It will never happen, but it would be great if the regular season dropped 30 games.

Totally agree with this. These players want to get paid their 20m+ per year so would be against cutting games, but then you get load management bullshit and/or meaningless games until the playoffs.

All professional sports are guilty of maximising quantity and diluting quality (I'm looking at you, Super rugby), but the NBA is by far the worst culprit.

The NFL has it wired. 16 games, that's it. Every game matters

Has anyone listened to 'The Book OfBasketball' podcast. Recommended by a team mate. I've been binging it the last two weeks.

Highly recommend. Bill Simmons and others look at re drafts, finals series, his rankings of players on the all time list and why.

Yep, some of it is pretty good. Its his follow-up to his Book of Basketball (an actual book), that is excellent. He doesn't write much anymore now that he's made $200m selling The Ringer to Spotify, its all podcasts. But he is great quality, excellent insight and unique ability to link the trends of the times.

    Dear Sean Marks and co

Well done bro. KD and Kyrie have made it look easy against the Celtics tonight. Please don’t ruin this team by chasing Harden. With DJ, Allen, Harris, Dimwiddie, Levert, Shamet, Prince, Green - you have a very very good supporting cast to your two superstars.

An underwhelming Chrismas Day slate of games.

    Just a series of blowouts.

They'd be mad to chase Harden. I dont know if this team is good enough to go deep into the playoffs, but I dont think Harden will take them further. Its certainly not more scoring that they need.

@Magpie_in_aus Blazers v Rockets games always tend to be close high scoring games. Both are explosive offensively but seem to have the same defensive breakdowns/lapses.

CJ was hitting some tough shots. He’s not as good as Klay but his jump shot is almost as smooth.

That Christian Wood is a keeper for the Rockets. I watched him have a couple of big games last year for the Pistons after taking a few seasons to find his feet on the league. When they get Cousins, Wall and Gordon back they’ll have a better rotation than they did last season.

Some crazy results today so far.

Hornets beat the Nets (Hayward was Mr Efficient), Clippers lose by 50 to the Mavs. Bucks are about to lose to the Knicks. Cavs do it easy against the 76ers. Spurs played a stinker against New Orleans after a couple of very good wins.

Playoff P showing how good he is as a co-star though...

@mariner4life yeah he copped a hard elbow straight to the face that pretty much knocked him out and blood pouring out.

Looks like a few other Clippers had the night off too, but were actually seen on the court...

    Warriors get their first win.
