    @mariner4life well you're too fucking depressing for a Friday night! Let's get back to talking about Lebrons greatness.

    Let’s not!

    On the Wall and Westbrook trade, this is the modern day NBA when two teams have to trade an all-star for another all-star, both on ridiculous contracts, to keep another all-star at their respective teams. Doesn’t make a lot of sense!

    Dec 2, 2020

    The Wall-Westbrook Trade Was an Act of Total Desperation

    The Wall-Westbrook Trade Was an Act of Total Desperation

    The Wizards and Rockets had no choice but to unload their overpriced stars in an attempt to keep their real franchise stars. It’s a last-ditch attempt for both teams to salvage their current cores.

    I reckon Wall’s contract was worst than Russ’ so does that mean Washington did better for unloading it (somewhat)....

    A fascinating read:

    The Pelicans and Thunder are 'shorting' other franchises' futures

    The Pelicans and Thunder are 'shorting' other franchises' futures

    If a deal has to be made in the NBA these days, the bet is that a team can't stay good forever.

    Wow Ball Jnr with some amazing assists. I can't wait to see his stat lines throughout the season gonna be some mind blowing stats both good and bad. I think today was 0pts 4 assists 4 turnovers 10boards in 16 min (of a preseason which I know means nothing)

    Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has signed a five-year, $228 million supermax extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, his agent told ESPN.

    The whole of Wisconsin will breathe a sigh of relief, good on him for bucking the trend and staying with his team

    Doesn't mean he is actually staying long term though, just means now they can actually look for trade destinations for him.

    Nah, they have him for 4 years, this ain't football. Or if he later on agitated for a trade they will at least be in a position to get something back, until his year 4 player option

    My point is that having him contracted makes him more valuable as a trade asset, as any team taking him knows that they get him for 4 years, not just the remaining 1 year on his old deal. He's no longer a flight risk, and that means you are willing to pay more to get him.

    Does he want to be traded? I honestly don't think so, he seems like he wants to stay from all his public noise. Be interesting to see what the Bucks do though if they fall flay in the playoffs again

    Isn't there a time frame before they can trade like half the contract or something. Either way in stoked great for the game he's not ending up at Miami or GS

    I'm pretty sure it's two years, so this is a good result for the Bucks (sucks for my Mavs as I was hoping...)

    It’s a massive contract, bigger than the record Harden one. I think it means that Bucks office have at least two years to get the pieces around him to make a decent run.

    @Magpie_in_aus @ACT-Crusader

    1yr waiting period per Lowe. Have a good crack this year, then if it doesn't pan out / if he is unhappy, there is a good length contract to trade

    Seems like he genuinely likes living in Milwaukee, so they just have to make good moves and he might stay. Not everyone can win the title but he will want to be sure the organization is doing everything they can to get him there

    They have a good front office at the Bucks so unless they screw it up, Giannis will be taken care of and get paid.

    A small market team and he is the highest paid player in the NBA. That doesn’t happen by accident

    @TeWaio thats pretty funny from Perk

    Its pretty stupid the way they say they let him do what he wanted because "it didn't affect his play "

    And yet he has faded in the playoffs year after year. How can there not be a clear link between looking after yourself during the regular season and staying energetic in the playoffs? You get paid $40m to prep your body all year round you lazy prick.

    @mariner4life

    My Xmas holiday starts today and I was all set up to clean the house and do some boring but useful shit (like cleaning) to avoid getting yelled at by the wife (who is still working remotely).

    That plan is now finished.

    I’m on the sofa with a piece of toast, and I just watched Durant drain his first three of the day.

    Many thanks.
