Maybe the best ever 3rd seamer.

He is quite unique, as usually you get promoted eventually and start taking new ball (like Garner, the next best. Or assume Cummins will eventually do more). Instead Wagner got rewarded by being given an even older ball and demoted below even CdG's wobblers since 2016.

Stats even more impressive if you strip it down to 4th seamers:

He never complains, is fueled by his perpetual font of rage directed at the batsmen. His performances on the sub continent, putting in long shifts in the heat, are Herculean

@mariner4life who troubled the best batsman inn the world last year, in his home conditions? The Wags.

    Dead. Set. Legend.

yes. but it's a damning statement when the dude bowling 130km bouncers at guys for 15 overs straight is in our all time best attack.

Living in Australia has obviously made you forget your homeland and the complete and utter dearth of genuinely world class fast bowlers ( or cricketers full stop )

Ewen Chatfield used to do the same (bowled 65 overs in a test once) except that he also opened the bowling.

......this happened on numerous occasions and people are actually questioning the Wags greatness ?

Somehow survive R J Hadlee and Trent Boult's opening spell, and then Wagner turns up to try and remove your head from your shoulders until Hadlee returns.

That’s if Boult is playing ahead of Bond. Longevity vs brilliance

Bond might be second change to bowl at Gilchrist.

Was thinking about this the other day actually.

He’s currently the 2nd best test bowler in the world, 2nd! It’s few and far between that we get our guys ranked that high. Anyone who says he shouldn’t be considered as one of our best ever has rocks in their head.

IMO it doesn’t matter if he got there by bowling pretty outswinging deliveries that hit the top of off or if he’s got there by bowling balls aimed at the Adam’s apple, results are results.

And Timmy up to 4 in the rankings.... I’m not reading much from his haters at the moment.

No, Shane Jurgensen is still the bowling coach. Bond was only involved with some of the IPL players while they were in MIQ. BMac was too.

@Bovidae thanks. I knew is wasn't a full time gig, but I thought is was more substantial than that.

you play all 3 in my side. I don't need Wags, i've got Dan to tie up an end. Be nice to see him bowl when all he has to do is attack.
