I know it's hard to accept as long suffering fans but we have a class side at the moment with some genuinely world class players in the mix. Our recent test record is formidable at home. We've also made the last two CWC finals and outright won the second one, only thwarted by the ICC bringing the game into disrepute by putting nonsensical T20 rules into that CWC and that one alone (yes I will take that bitterness to my grave).
We are way too fucking good for the WI at home. Anything other than a clean sweep should be viewed as a failure.

We’re not playing Greenidge, Haynes, Richards, Richardson, Lara and four hostile, world class quicks.
We’re playing a brilliant all rounder and captain, a decent quick bowler and a host of journeymen.

Story of our lives. I remember Alastair Cook and Ross Taylor debuted around the same time but was shocked at how many more tests the pommy opener played than Rossco.
In ten years time our team might plunge to the depths of the mid 2000s and we might get another generation of plodders ( which the Windies basically are ) so let’s embrace the fine players we have now.

Absolutely, enjoy this team. Hopefully success will breed success though and these guys will inspire the next generation of players.
Not sure that I could handle another couple of decades being traumatised by the BCs.
As for the match, it is probably better for us if the pitch still has a bit in it next couple of days. I think our bowlers will know how to get more out of it than the Windies (assuming that we have been bowled out or hopefully declared). I get the feeling Jamieson might be the man.
