The NRL Season of 2016

Luckily I didn't. Poor Hendo.

Todd Greenberg is the new NRL CEO. A safe pair of hands (was the Bulldogs CEO before Raelene Castle) although the NRL really wanted Jim Doyle.

Foran played okay but not at 100%. -

Have the Eels been stripped of points yet for their salary cap fiasco? The more they win the less the NSW cartel will want to take those points (some are saying it will be 10 points) away.
-
Not yet. Seems most are trying to ignore it and hope it goes away

First home game of the season and it is against the number one rival, Melbourne Storm. Matulino is going to challenge a shoulder charge ruling (wins he gets to play, lose he gets four weeks, do nothing he gets three weeks) and while Vatuvei and Ayshford are named to start, it appears that Konrad and Jonathan Wright will be playing on Sunday afternoon.

Manu looked at least a couple of weeks with that injury he copped. -

Manu is out of today's game and Ashyford looks to be game-time decision. Tigers just lost to the Tits. Ha! Also a new kiwi star has emerged in Penrith halfback Te Maire Martin - led them to victory against the Broncos.

-

Konrad played for the NSW Cup team so Wright is in for Manu.

And news is that Issac Luke did his knee at training and is OUT. FFS.
-
What the fuck! That's not a penalty! You fucking piston wristed gibbon ref

I assume you mean the tackle. That was a crazy call.

Warriors playing better in the 2nd 40, but the Storm defense is pretty solid. -
14 all with 5 to play. Goooooo WARRIORS!
-
Cronk nails the DG. Fuck.
-
Warriors cough up the ball and the Storm score to seal the game. Gutted.
-

And with that war the Melbourne Storm officially kick start the Warriors 2016 season. It's a loss but the Warriors at least went up the middle of the park this time.

Some thoughts:

- Smash it up, dummy half run, smash it up, dummy half run.... the Warriors actually did this for parts of the game and guess what? The Storm defence went backwards. Maybe they should try the simple stuff a bit more.

- Just like the girls/quasi-girls will tell you on K Rd, it is tough being a hooker. First Luke is goooonnnee before the game begins, Nathan Roache is then injured early in the game, Jazz Tevaga gets injured several times in the game, Jeff Robson gets injured when he moved to hooker late in the game, and Bodene Thompson also gets injured after playing a few sets as hooker.

- Big ups to Jazz Tevaga. A backrower/hooker, he's the new, browner Lewis Brown. Showed aggression on attack and defence, and like Lewis, he just kept going.

- If Luke, Roache and Tevaga are all injured next week, play Robson at hooker, and SJ and Lolohea in the halves. Lolohea needs more ball.

- The frontrowers of Matulino, Lillyman, Vete, Gubb and Gavet played well too. Gavet's tackle on Munster was clean and was a bullshit call.

- So was the call by the refs before the winning drop goal - if it goes forward off a dropped ball it's a knock on. Nuff said.

- But the Storm's Kiwis won Melbourne that game imo with simple, straight forward running. Henry Perenara also helped.

- I don't know what happened to Kata but he seems to be playing ok, even better when on the wing.

- Ashyford and Wright should be the last options for call ups.

- Bring back Hurrell.
-
