bucket list item for my Dad acheved. Hit his first hole in one in 60 years of golf...
over the moon for him and jealous as well
That's awesome!!! I haven't had one.
My Dad has been playing every week for at least 30 of those 60 years, so I suspect an element of relief as well. Some people never get one either, so really happy for him
was about to say - time on the course is important for that.
50 rounds a year, say 5 par 3 holes per round, over 30 years is 7500 tries.
Edit: and stoked for him obviously! Great result
5 Par three holes? What type of Pitch and Putt do you play at?

Helensville
I've played there. Nice course. Did he have many to shout?
yeah, unfortunately it was a sponsored event, but the course also put in $100, so it didnt work out too bad. Then also won a massive hamper in the raffle while drinking. I swear he should have bought a lotto ticket yesterday.

3 years ago I saw the Stones. Then 18 months ago I saw AC/DC - which was extremely fortunate as I wasn't to know that Brian was going to move on. Now both were totally amazing, and a real tick off the list sort of things.
But just this morning, I've gone and topped it.
Metallica are playing HK next Jan - done. I've seen them twice before, but it's been a lot time between drinks - Newstead was on bass when I saw them last!
And then also - Guns N FUCKING ROSES!! Singapore in Feb. The old crew - Axl, Slash, Duff and some other bogans. As a caveat, I still expect this concert to quite possibly suck shit. Or Axl and Slash to fall out before than and the whole thing to be tinned. But hey, it's guns and fucking roses man!!!
There is no purpose to this post, other than to show off.
to bring this thread full circle
Gunners here next November. Tickets on sale this Thursday.
Yay or nay?
Mrs Mariner and I thinking of taking the kids....
I tried to buy tix yesterday for me and the lad. $220 each for gold, which ain't that gold really , only cheaper ones were silver at 130 which looked terrible. But worse was that the ticketek site was shit and you couldn't select and proceed to finalise anyway, so I got nothing in the end.

I remember when I booked GnR tickets, I didn't look at the seating plan and just went for the most expensive as it included easier bar access etc. I just assumed a cushy seat somewhere within cooee. I didn't think for a second I was paying for right up front standing tickets. I was gutted as I thought I would be amongst all the idiots jumping into each other. As it happened everyone in that area was of similar age so it was quite civil. Still nice to see joints being passed round. Bless.

Brilliant concert and the Axl voice concerns were quickly forgottren.
Odd thing, but didn't Axl step in when Brian stepped out for AC DC in 2016?
So they replaced a deaf guy for a mute (I have been told a million times not to exaggerate).
I wouldn't care though, would still see them. -

You lot are most likely the pervy old guy that took the photo though.
It is in landscape, so yes might be someone here.
I am most likely the pervy old guy with her on my shoulders (you get those requests when you are tall). Sometimes they want you to face the other way too.
Thread out of control again.
