Which leaves Goodhue with the 12 jersey, to the Ferners' fury.

    @Stargazer

A back 3 of Reece, Jordan and Havili looks most likely now.

Goodhue and Fai in the midfield

Another one. The Crusaders backs are dropping like flies ... This guy has no luck.

Manasa Mataele has joined fellow Crusaders wing George Bridge on the long-term injury list with a pectoral tear.

    Mataele had surgery on Thursday

Bridge is expected to be out for up to six months, while the exact time-frame for Mataele’s return is unclear, but both could be unavailable for the start of Super Rugby next year.

Mataele’s pectoral tear is his second serious injury within two years, after he tore the ACL in his right-knee playing for the Crusaders in February last year.

He sustained his latest injury against Wellington a fortnight ago, although Canterbury initially believed it wouldn’t sideline him for long.

Still trying to get some oil, what I hear is most of the gaps
Are being filled out of the Crusaders academies .

4 or 5 new players and 3 extra short term contracts to cover
Bridge,Ennor and Matale all having potential late starts due to injuries.

@Chris Fihaki might be worth a shot for one of the short term contracts whilst the injured cavalry make their way back.

He might get a full contract as he can play FB as well as wing, especially if we play Havilli in the Mid field to cover Ennors injury.

@ACT-Crusader Im 90% sure he already has one and if not it will definitely be a development contract he’s not a bad pick up.

Ok, he had a development contract last season outside the 38 man squad. The Crusaders have a few young players training with the squad and on some pocket money about 5 or 6 players.

I hear he has a full contract for this season but not 100% confirmed.

There is a great depth of young props and LFs not so much locks the better locks in the system are in the 17 to 18 year old bracket.

List of 2020–21 Super Rugby Aotearoa transfers - Wikipedia

Looking at this breakdown, there's not many spots available unless Razor is cutting people.

    Harmon and Paea need replacing.

Will Romano sign on for another year (or is he already replaced by Sam Whitelock)?

Hard to see many of the forwards being cut. Most at risk might be Harry Allan and Ethan Roots.

Might be a few at risk in the inside backs and midfield.
