Watching on Kayo in Oz, and it's the best golf coverage I've ever seen. Shot after shot after shot, barely any ads, a great variety of golfers. No filler, no lingering shots of the azaleas, no long interviews. It's how golf should be.
Justin Thomas is looking ominous.
Must be the same coverage everywhere. As I also noticed how quick it was between shots and lack of bollocks.
Certainly the easiest I've ever seen Augusta play. Tournament is wide wide open.

what happened to Jordan Speith? It's only a couple of years since he was the guy. Now you just never hear about him, and he went 2 over today.
I was wondering the same thing last night. We have a family joke about that, as when my daughter was 3, I was watching Jordan play golf on the TV over dinner once, and she asked me if John Beef played at Foxhills (our local golf club where she had swimming lessons) ...

It seems a very narrow line between being a top player and one of the pack. A whole series of players rise up to join the elite for a while then fade back into the pack. Molinari is another. For a year or so, he was at the top of the leaderboard and then he rejoins the pack.
With 13 and 15 playing like tricky par 4s and not par 5s, the back 9 looks vulnerable to a guy who's playing well. Plenty of players going on birdie streaks through there.

You guys are right about the coverage. I've never seen golf like it
Feel like I'm watching my first sweeping shot through the trees behind a leaderboard graphic all morning.

Cheeky triple for Bryson de RoShamBo ....
Cracking wide open leaderboard
Fuck off bryson enjoy watching the weekend with the rest of us
Hows par 67 looking now?

DJ 4 shots clear and the names at 4 and 5 behind him are not big ones!

-
@taniwharugby 10? Ouch

golf can be a cruel, cruel game, given his 3rd shot was a very good looking shot, and musta been so close to sitting on the fringe, but no....

DJ wins in a canter, the last 36 holes were a bit of a fizzer.
Very soft greens, colder weather and rain made the course so different to how it normally plays.
Couldn't get over seeing guys bomb it into the green on 15 and have the ball stop dead next to the pin, rather than bound over the back like it usually does.

Three woods bouncing and sticking to a foot of impact. Was incredible.

Also worth mentioning is how amazing the Masters online leaderboard is/was. You could track every player in real time, and see every shot roughly a minute after they hit it. Any player, anywhere on the course. And now you can go back and replay every shot.
I could watch my favourite players so much more, given they are Aussies and traditionally don't feature much on the coverage.

Watch Cameron Smith's second shot into 9, or Tiger's meltdown on 12 in all its glory.
It puts every other golf tournament to shame.

I loved the interview at the end there. He is Joe Cool on the golf course and that natural swagger when he walks makes him probably the coolest cat playing golf of all time, but that interview, seeing the emotion and what it means, makes him even more endearing.
Easily my fav golfer. I hope he gets home and has a few top quality lines to celebrate!
