Do it. Then next Bledisloe I'll see if he laughs at the memory of it.

@KiwiMurph He's a poach that backfired on us. Could be wearing black right now had he stayed in Auckland. Apparently it was Matt Duffie who told the Storm to go after him when they were looking to replace Duffie at the Storm. I think he's going to add a lot to the Wallabies.

    Circulating in the paper today:

    Sam Phillips  /  Nov 10, 2020  /  Rugby Union

Six-week, 10-team trans-Tasman Super Rugby set to be played in 2021

Six-week, 10-team trans-Tasman Super Rugby set to be played in 2021

The full Super Rugby AU draw has been revealed but it's a six week, 10 team trans-Tasman competition which will have rugby fans excited for the year ahead.

A six-week, 10-team trans- Ta$man Super Rugby competition is days away from being signed off by Rugby Australia and New Zealand Rugby powerbrokers.

While some element of trans- Ta$man Super Rugby was tipped to return next year, it was expected to simply be the winner of Super Rugby AU facing the winner of Super Rugby Aotearoa.

    yes it happens after.

Multiple sources have told the Herald the trans- Ta$man competition will kick off on May 15 – one week after the domestic deciders – and will finish in time for the Wallabies and All Blacks to begin preparations for inbound Test tours in July.

That makes it 5 Pumas playing Super AU in 2021.

Medrano, Miotti, Lezana as well as Tomás Cubelli and Julián Montoya, all signed by the Force.

A few more and the Jaguares will play Super Rugby after all! 😂

The Force are building quite an interesting squad. Remember, they've also signed Kahui, Thrush and Kearney.

So Western Australia is 10 years behind the rest of the world?

A few mutterings on this around Australian Rugby fandom, asking about how this develops Aussie players.

Of course, it doesn't; the idea is to make the Force competitive with a very limited player development pathway. The corpse is bleeding dry with a lot of overseas departures, and RA doesn't have the money to top up everyone (see: Hooper going o/s).

Additionally, how the fuck is RA going to survive on the TV deal negotiated with NeiniStan, without Twiggybucks?

In small club news: we look to be setting up nicely for Seasons 2021 and beyond. We got a ground inside the precinct licensed by Parramatta Eels, and after a bit of constraint arose we got the nod to stay there because of our superior numbers.

No doubt there will be a bit of noise over the fact that we're union in a league facility (when some league clubs say they don't have enough room), but that's life when we've got 3 Grades + Womens and some local league clubs have 1-2 senior teams at most. We were on the ground last year, and it is the first opportunity we've had to create a long-term established venue for our club. More than happy to put money into it as well - we se ourselves staying there for years and decades if we play it right.

From 2022 we will probably have it to ourselves as well which is great. Very few "new" clubs get a ground to themselves in these scenarios.

Premier Rugby news from the area: Eastwood Rugby are going to get a brand new facility just around the corner from us (2.5km as the crow flies), from 2022 onward, so we've got to put in the work to stabilise our numbers before that happens.

If I could just get that elusive $20M lottery win, I'd upgrade our current amenities block to a full clubhouse facility with better storage, change rooms, gym etc. Also water tanks, some solar on the roof and a big fat Tesla Powerpack to run the ground 😉

    That's really great news Nick.

EDIT: Just clarifying this. I was referring to the great news of Force recruitment. I honestly couldn't give a fuck about the Rouse Hill Reprobates

I think its a legitimate approach, make the competition competitive, that brings prestige, which brings sponsor/viewers and then aussie players will want to stay and play

I think people complaining about the development of aussie youth are about 10 years behind the times...we're past building on whats there...its start from scratch time, these teams cant have youth systems if their top team is struggling to pay the bills

    As expected.

BTW we rebranded to remove "Rouse Hill" from our name last year. Considering we haven't played in Rouse Hill for over a decade, it seemed appropriate. Allows us to move the franchise as we please, in a demand-driven market 😎
