My front two teeth were broken when I was about 12 (hockey not rugby for that one). Root canal, metal pins that pretty much go up behind my nose, crowns. All that shit that @canefan can correct me on. Then I smacked them again (showing off on waterskis) in my late teens. Pretty much same process.
Not sure that a mouthgaurd would have helped in either case but it wouldn't have been a bad idea either.
Not touting. But make sure you have the ACC number kept up to date. 2 implants are about $12k private and for example at our place you would only pay about 800 total. Best deal around courtesy of ACC

You can file a statutory declaration. As long as you have an approximate date and location, and get an up to date xray and photo you should be sweet. Implant approval does depend on condition of your other teeth though, if you are missing some teeth that could be a problem

If you have a dentist get them to fill the paperwork out next time you go. ACC shred their files after 10 years but it is easy to get reset

Yep, I was first amazed that we somehow have a four page thread on wearing a mouthguard, but then this is the Fern.
Got a dentist made mouthguard in club colours nearly 20 years ago... which will come in handy at social hockey tonight. It's absolutely fine for breathing with, and I'm someone whose sinuses are shot...

Worst injury I ever saw was social hockey. Woman got high sticked in the face by a male player, sans mouthguard. Her mouth was like a jigsaw, you didn't know where to start. Would have cost ACC at least $30K. But have fun

hockey is a crazy sport, surprising there arent more faces smashed in from sticks and flying hockey balls.
Although it is understandable when I think back to when I worked in a Sports store and the reps showing the special inserts and materials that went into top grade goalie gear

I lost my front two at 11. I have a partial plate and a crooked tooth because they wouldn't do anything until I was 18 because my jaw was still growing. All through my teens with a small black stump where my teeth should be.
Not great for your self confidence.
Didnt have mouthguards in those days - or ACC.
