@Machpants Wellington should be safe with Manawatu next week. I can see Canterbury getting up ove Auckland next week, beinfg desperate, at home and with all Auckland's apparent injuries. That leaves the loser of the North Harbour v BOP game to go down. Bonus points could have a say.

@Kruse Neither Kurt Baker or Taulamolo will be there next year.

Sounds good... If Ash Dixon cuts down on the being a sooker-ball player when it comes to ref-back-chat... I could probably feel comfortable being a Magpies supporter again.

But anyways... I only caught the last third of that match... congrats the Hawkes-Magpies.

If you're complaining about Ash rightly pushing his team's case then I would prefer if you do not become a Magpies supporter again. πŸ˜‰

Next weeks last round going to be very interesting

    I reckon
    Wellington will beat Manawatu
Canterbury will beat Auckland ( only basing that on Aucklands Injury toll, I think Canterbury will treat that game like a final )
And it will come down to who ever loses the Bop v Harbour game ..
    Thoughts people ..?

@Kruse What do you mean "again"? We only have life long supporters that support the team through thick and thin, and believe me there have been plenty of lean years interspersing the good ones hence the reason why we rejoice in the odd win we scrap out every so often.

@Chris-B be good to see Ta$man get a challenge next year ..you don’t become a bad side over night , it still does my head in the All Black coaching staff taking so many fringe players out of this comp ..like it really helped the All Blacks last night πŸ˜‚

Yep, looks like win v Harbour and we’re in the semi finals, lose and we’re back in the Championship...

@Steven-Harris Great minds! A quote i've always liked is - "Great minds talk about ideas. Average minds talk about events. Weak minds talk about people". I would guess most of us Ferners on here fit somewhere between the last two!

Alas, we're likely to never know.

Are you guys going to conspire to avoid promotion, or simply rely on NZ Rugby's incompetence to ensure we don't come anywhere near playing you until the shield is long gone? πŸ™‚

That was the poor Wellingtonians' first challenge for 6 years, but at least they got one.

Second longest challenge drought is now Auckland, who have ticked over five years.

But it pales into comparison with Ta$man's 1 September 2012.

The Ranfurly Shield will stay in Hawke's Bay for summer after the Magpies' big win.

So who gets relegated? Canterbury or Wellington?

All the pressure is on Auckland. How could the top of the Premiership table team lose to a rabble that is this Canterbury side? Laden with guys being talked about in AB threads like TJ Faine etc.

No excuses, an eight point winning margin is required to help make up for the abject failure of the Ta$man Invitational XV. 😊

I actually forgot about this game until about 30 mins in and being the loyal Wellington fan I am saw the score and went pffft and changed the channel I can only handle so many crap games this year this team is basically the same as last years finalists but this year their rabble.

@mikey07 I feel your pain, we've got the players but they just seem like they don't give two shites. They are a rabble and their attitude stinks. I mean half the team were just sitting back and watching on Sunday. Disgraceful.
