Vancouver 7s:

NZL beat England 7-0 and France 24-0.
They've now qualified for the Cup Quarter Finals, but it depends on the last pool game v USA (3.44pm) whether they'll finish top of the pool.

Pretty sure France scored two tries ...

Yeah 24-10 just checked.

Looked quite good against the Yanks at 17-5.

I watched the game vs USA and was pleasantly surprised with our stoic defence (until the last play)

Just refused to let the USA do anything meaningful with the ball, and managed to keep Perry Baker out until the very last second.

Had Rasta ref not been sat on his arse in the 2nd half, we would have scored another try. But hey.

A bloody good effort without any real stars and an aging DJ Forbes..

Into the semis.Took out Samoa even though we slacked off a touch at the end.

Opponent to be either AUS or SCO with SCO up 12-0 in the first half. Must have had extra porridge rations this morning after the 6N game.

Interesting team selections by Tietjens. He seems to be now using Baker as the no.1 halfback and Mikkelson spends most of his time in the backs again. When Timmy did pack down a scrum the Samoans nearly won the ball against the feed. Obviously Tietjens is still tinkering with combinations and will need to incorporate the Super players again in May.

BTW we are facing AUS in the semi as they came back against the Scots to win 24-17

I think Titch is playing with ideas a bit and not forecasting his Olympics gameplan too much either.

He was very keen on Pulu for a while and using a sniping halfback. Will be interesting to see how much Ben Lam's withdrawal affects the plan.

Great game from Kaka. Showed he has some fast wheels!

That new lad Molia is pretty good, too! Had never heard of him before this tournament.

NZ 28 - 19 Aus

Stowers did his best to let Aust back into the game before HT. Molia or Ware should start in the final.

Molia looks most effective later in games when he can target tired defenders
