Interesting game tactically
Ports whole game is built around clearances ,number 1 in the competition, They like to move it forward and press up heaps of numbers to trap it in their front half , Richmond Aren’t really traditionally a clearance team, they rely on pressure , turnover and counter attack ,
In that second half they went out and beat them in clearances 28-9 , took away their mojo , Beating them at their own game In the wet weather
Port have been great this season and would have been worthy grand finalists

@booboo yeah I think so. Mostly it's the footy fan equivalents of us rugby fans talking about how the current strategy is to bring everyone behind the ball when defending so that when the ball gets turned over there's no one to pass it to in an attacking position.
Something like that boo, but I don't know enough and am hung over to fuck! How is it that one beer in the pub is equal to 2 or 3 at home?
-
Fuck Geelong are good
-
Brissy back in it and within a goal at the main break.
The Lions will need the crowd to lift them because Geelong seems more likely to run away with it if given a sniff.
-
83 refs on the field and the world's most obvious throw gets missed. Lions fans losing their minds.
-
Gary ablett chooses tonight to remember he's one of the best to ever play
We are 2nd best in every single aspect.

Is it less disappointing tonight or next week?
-
Tonight. Making a GF would have been amazing.
And in all honesty I expected to win tonight, and lose to Richmond next week.

What odds the top two teams don't make the final?

This year not huge I wouldn't think. Except I guess Geelong coming good in finals this year
How long since an all Vic GF and it's not at the G?

2011 - Geelong v Pies.
In the last 20 GFs (2000-2019) an all Vic GF has only happened 5 times (2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2000)

That's it.
Good season, disappointing finish. Cats just too good.
-
Congratulations Geelong. Smashed us, tjat midfield was amazing.
Next weekend better be a fucking contest.

So Cameron has told the Giants he’s going. Surprise surprise he wants to go to Geelong.

Jeremy Cameron is a big cat, so no surprise.
How they fuck does he fit in to that side?
I assume Carlton's paper bag wasn't big enough.
GWS need a hard reset. Their side was always unbalanced, too much high end talent, not enough role players. The talent side seems to be leaving, so get the role players in.
-
also the fact that the teams at the top of the ladder continue to get stronger through free agency means the system is not working. The fact that a lot of these transfers are the best players from the bottom clubs means teams are stuck in the bottom 8.
Hawthorn are paying the price now, but i reckon they are happy with the payoff of their free agency years.

Don't they have an old roster? I presume there's guys looking to make this their final year. Might just be the drive they need for the GF.

yeah, i wasn't just talking about money (but he'll get a fat contract)
But you wouldn't want him taking up Tom Hawkins' room.
Just once, i would love the club being left to ignore the players' wishes, and trade him to wherever gives the best deal for them. Jeremy Cameron to North Melbourne would be fucking hilarious.
