Plummer with a Rupeni-scoop

This is as bad as I've seen Havili play.
Yeah.
Orc forwards have been brutal. Christie and Hunt have been well contained.
-
Just a little confusing that last maul...

Auckland using the same blueprint Harbour used - don't give us the ball and use a big pack to smother us.
Huge difference from last year's team is we're much smaller from 4-8.
Somewhat better second half (we won it!) - but, mainly once the benches came on.

@Chris-B this Auckland team is no great shakes. Ta$man to win comfortably.
I knew it!
You lying JAFA!!!

Why does Ta$man get guys released from the ABs to play but no-one else?
Didn't help them much.

Haha I didn't bank on Ta$man playing their worst game in years!

Just finished watching. Far out where did that come from! It all started up front where we really gave it to them, with Plummer and Rayasi benefiting from fromt foot ball. Ruru also had his best game in a long long time. We kept it simple by running hard and straight and Ta$man with their ABs didn't want to know.
Defence was strong, led by unsung hero Adrian Choat who surely will get a SR contract somewhere, supported brilliantly by Gibson and Redlinger Kapa. Hope Whetton's injury isn't too serious either although it doesn't look good.
Must say David Havili had a dead set shocker. Up there with one of the worst individual performances I've ever seen.

@Stargazer We'll keep him
I've always liked Sullivan since seeing him at Kings College tbh. I thought he'd go back to Hawke's Bay like they always do but it's good to actually keep one that came from out of town for once

I'm wondering how long a player can play out of his skin like David Havili has done the last two years - being consistently one of the best (outside) backs on the field and still being ignored by the ABs selectors - without it impacting a player mentally. The pressure on players on the ABs fringes is immense and he's had to overcome adversity as well with injuries and his health scare earlier this year. PU-J being called in the squad as injury cover, yesterday; maybe that was just a big blow that distracted him a bit.
I think he's allowed a bad game; more than one actually. Still one of the best backs in NZ and he should be in the ABs camp right now.

Choat has been very impressive for Auckland, definitely should pick up a contract somewhere

@African-Monkey I hope he'll see sense soon and come back home. This is just a youthful indiscretion that we'll forgive him.
