Southland are playing all the rugby, only because of our poor option taking and execution.
If we can get out of this period of Southland dominance without points conceded it’ll be a big confidence booster.
We’ve given a few penalties away too... must be close to a warning?

Our set piece is so inconsistent.
Need to build some phases, and as usual we are leaving alot of space on our outsides

That was the worst 40 Northland have played all season, including the Ta$man game, not sure how we’re ahead!
Hope the boys get a hell of a tune up at half time!
Need to put the offload away, some days they come off and today certainly isn’t one of them. Need to also stop kicking the ball to them.
Ge the ball, hold the ball, build phases, then capitalise. Simple stuff.
C’mon Northland!!!!!

@taniwharugby ....we are big and tough enough to win contact. Defend not too bad. But Hawkins steps crossfield and lacks power in his kicking. Hohaia is not a kicker, and Gregory is so hit and miss as to be dangerous. Hence our game management is awful.

Massive ticker and massive defence from Northland, though I’m still wondering how we actually managed to win that.
Worst game I’ve seen Northland play in a long long time.
Didn’t respect the ball when we had it, awful kicking, stupid penalties.
Pretty much everything we did only put us under more pressure than was already on us.
Wonder if the heads were already in Napier...
