Manu, Harris and Tokolahi would be my number one front row till Elliot gets back.

I'm sure Rennie and Barnes have their reasons though. Harris is just coming off a long injury, so I'm guessing they're trying to ease him back in. And with Laulala out, they could just be looking to ease up Tokolahi's workload as much as they can.

Otherwise looks pretty good to me. Great to see Leitch on the bench.

what's wrong with Elliot anyway?

hmm that just triggered a memory from the other night when someone I was talking to was saying they were in the same pub with him recently and he was being a massive bell end.
-

Harris played the entire ITM last year for BOP - not sure how long this coming back from injury caper will last for?

Forgot about that. Who knows them, maybe Marshall's just impressed them during the preseason.

Concussion issues.
-

Interesting that there is no lock on the bench for the Chiefs. Seems to be the way coaches think these days. Risk is if you lose a key lock early, the loosie on the bench covers that role. Bardoul has filled this position in the past (mixed success - a lot better when able to roam) and it appears that they will use Seu in the same fashion.

I'm not a fan of this strategy, the key functions of loose forward and lock are poles apart. It may come off in the final 20, when the graft has been done, but any earlier it may backfire. In fact, I'd say that the Chiefs have done poorly previously using this strategy.
-

Very different player but maybe he will feel less entitled then Bismarck who threw hissy-fits and seemed disinterested ever since that Eden Park test. He's bigger then Bismarck as well.

Don't really see a pathway to victory for the Lions unless they run up an early lead. But their forwards should keep it close on the scoreboard at least. -

Taleni Seu is seen as a lock/loose forward. He is 202cm tall, and I think long-term, they are wanting him to play a bit more at lock -

Yep, he is so completely out of his depth. It is quite rare that you see props that comprehensively destroyed.
-

Beats me.. Wouldn't need to watch much JP footy to see that he isn't a Super rugby prop.

He did do better at the last two scrims. But, he should. He fucking has BBBR behind him..

Anyway, Mckenzie looking for 3 after a bit of wild play.

3-0. -
Fun game this. A lot of ball movement from both sides
-
Great try! The offloading in this game is unreal

Okay ref you've got your pet ruling. But the Lions halfback just fed that in exactly the same spot
