Northland v Manawatu

@Machpants him, Pryor, Nock, Josh Goodhue all well, but Wiseguy was great the way he slotted in and Pryor was excellent.
-
@taniwharugby yes, some good efforts. Pryor for me. He has always had pace and when the game opens up he stands out.

ranger caught one!!!!!
Good preseason hitout
Haha true!
Wiseguy MotM for me
Something about Faiane's who make players around them look better.
-
Some promising stuff out there, Ranger and Gregory a real worry though, these are a couple of players we need firing as they are likely to be central to alot of our play.
-
Good comeback from Nothland once they settled down and decided to build pressure instead of trying to score off every play. I enjoyed that game, good to have M10 cup back.
Also, please get rid of that haircut Sam Nock. That bleach is horrendous.
-
gonna need to step up several notches to be competitive next week, Ranger & Gregory to get sticky hands (reckon they musta turned the ball over with errors at least a dozen times combined, thats alot of ball to lose through a simple error)
Leilua looked to be hobbling at times and assume he was forced off when Ranger had to come back on, so likely Macilai to come into starting lineup or maybe push Gregory to wing and Wright to FB, Faiane to start, and Cooper to come into bench, rest deserves to be unchanged...
Ta$man will send plenty of ball to Gregory on the wing or FB...I still think he operates better when playing closer in, at the back he has far too much time to think about things, and then take the wrong option or execute poorly.
@Machpants NOck then Josh Goodhue then a Manawatu player, Manako??

@taniwharugby keen to see how no22 goes with a name as good as that should have a good future

@J77 blues region, helping out, makes sense
it bloody does, but by god you'd not have seen that in the last couple of decades. Good show I reckon, embedding coachs in ownership unions
-
@nzzp yeah I think in the past 3 or 4 years initiated by Tana, he has been trying to engage the Blues region.
Can only be for the good if the Blues region if they all feel the Blues are supporting them, enabling them to better support the Blues rather than the fractured relationship that has existed for large parts of super rugby.
-
@Steven-Harris ....and Gregory. This year could be the making of him if he is well coached and listens.
-
@kev on evidence from a few games last year, in Super rugby this season and last weekend, he has taken massive steps backwards.
Massive talent, still young enough, but someone needs to get in his ear as he is really struggling.
He is not a FB, best suited to mid-field, but needs time on the wing to just get his mojo back.
-
@taniwharugby I agree. His natural enthusiasm lends itself to getting his hand on the ball often, and being involved. Whereas at fullback his decision making and game management at this stage of his career is a weakness. But he could be one of our best players ever. Just hope he doesn’t end up like so many of our young players who fail to fulfil their potential or do so with another team. A huge talent.
