so, are we saying goldie plays for southland? cooke and timu on the wings for otago?
Goldie is Otago through and through.
Glory years.
-
oh, i agree, but if the rules are first team
ruling @Crucial ?

I would have Ken Stewart ahead of Dixon at 6. Natural number 7 but good enough to play at 6 for the AB's.
Both are before my time really so we can make that change.
@Kiwiwomble Yes, the original team gets first selection.

so a guy who plays 7 times for Southland as a 19 year old has to play there despite playing 56 times over 9 years for Otago?
This concept is a sham

There has to be an exception to the rule though for Harbour given the NPC had been going for over a decade before they were formed
It's only if a player is claimed by 2 or more teams. Who does NH miss out on?

Unless we want Cooke for the Magpies.

I'm pretty sure that Southland wouldn't leave him out, and they were his first team. He was born in Invercargill, educated in Invercargill and had his first year of NPC for Southland. So I don't reckon Otago through and through.
Which means that Otago can't have him. Two good options there though.

yes, i have such vivid memories of him in a Southland shirt
as opposed to in the Blue of Otago being fucking amazing.

I'm just annoyed we didn't select Randell, Kronfeld and Timu when they were at high school ... although Randell would have only been 16 I think (he first played for Otago as a 17 year old).

This rule is there so that the 5 SR bases can't just select players that moved there, as was common in the 1990s and 2000s.

@Nepia dont feel bad...we let Richie McCaw go
Hahahaha, although, at least you didn't let Michael Jones go.

@mariner4life There will be winners and losers for players who played for more than one province. It makes selections less predictable. Just a bit of fun though.
