@SynicBast Good lead in work there then. French chicks. Might upset a few of the Polish ones, but meh.
I was best man at a Polish girl's wedding back inthe eighties and ended uphandling her divorce as well, they hold no mystery or fear for me. French women, howver, terrify me (in a good way, as a moth to a flame)

@SynicBast their accent is luscious
Polish or French (or really IMO Both?)

French. I only met one Polish girl and she was quite tidy

Women from the haut-loire region have a dialect and accent that I adore. Unfortunately it makes it hard to determine their age, but that's why I have my daughters meet them as well - sort of early warning/scouting system

someone actually apologetically told me I looked like Lenin, but I took pity on them and didn't admit that was the exact plan.
Are you sure you're on the right forum?

I'm the balancing effect.

Ahhh, Lockdown Check In is back!
Can I start by saying fuck 2020?
A quick summary of the last month or so - wife left 3 weeks ago to go home to Sydney. Got through hotel q pretty well on the back of being insanely busy with a new job. Had her moments for sure, but overall she was amazing
I carried on solo parenting the kids in Wanaka, and left there 3 days ago to start a road trip back to PN. Flights booked from there to Sydney on the 30th.
Sitting in the queue for the ferry now, so looks like we will make Welly this evening. So far so good, I guess.
Until I decided to call AirNZ just now. I'd read the stories saying they have pushed out booking acceptances for all flights, so wanted to make sure my flights were sweet
"Oh" they say, "you've actually been bumped from your flight, did we forget to tell you ?"
Fucking what??!!!
The airnz people in charge of meeting Australia quota limits decided we were not as deserving as others (maybe true) and kicked us. Then didn't bother sending us a message or trying to rebook us.
How fucking uncool is that.
We are now rebooked on the next available which is 17 Sep, so 18 days later. If they'd told me at the time they had bumped us, we would likely have been on a flight a week or so earlier.
Or if they'd even told me a week ago, I could have spent the time in Wanaka, now I'm headed to Palmy...
Or imagine I had never called them, we woukd have rocked up to the airport on the 30th to be told then that the computer said no. That would have been fun.
Haven't had the balls to tell the kids yet. Safe to say the wife wasn't very happy at the thought of another 3 weeks away from the kids.
So 67 days of solo parenting coming my way, the last 14 to be in hotel q. Good times.
I'll just finish with another fuck 2020

Best of luck maintaining your sanity.

@voodoo Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo
That sucks!!
AirNZ are doing themselves no favours for the future. They are getting a lot wrong!
Good luck. Does this mean you will spend an extra 14 days in Palmy? (Like you needed another punch in the guts.... )

That's shit pal.
On the plus side the Cobb in Palmy does a massive and cheap steak and chips. Also the place near the square does enormous and delicious kebabs.
I'll take back all the bad things I've ever said about Palmy.
Hope you and the kids cope ok.

@Hooroo I can't do 4 weeks there. Will have to do something else. Probably head north again. I dunno mate, I have some "processing" to do...!
I suppose golf is fully off the cards as you need to look after the kids.
If you end up my way, we will try and connect this time
-
@canefan said in Lockdown Check In:
@voodoo I sympathize because they must be crazy busy, but Air NZ have been a covid19 clusterfuck it must be said
you wouldn't think an auto-generated email would be so difficult. It would even have been nice to know there was a process for applying for consideration in the bumping process.
