What's up with Jesse Parete. I don't seem to see his name in the Taranaki wider group. Is he potentially staying down in Otago ?

@Crucial caught up with Darryl Suasua at the Marist v Ponsonby game this afternoon ..I asked Him what he thought of the situation with Ta$man, he had no issues with what they are doing or how they recruit .
In fact he applauded them, and said other unions should be looking to them as the benchmark .
They are doing plenty of development within their own region ,but also have the backing financially to ensure they are fully professionally run.
He shared some of the issues had with Counties Manukau last year, once injuries hit, and they were hit very hard, there simply was no cash to bring anybody else in..they did have a couple of Australian players, but got them very cheap..
Some unions are quite prepared to spend money on players just to ensure it gets them winning games and making finals.I have come to the conclusion, it’s better idea to put systems in place to ensure firstly your club competition is strong and to a point where you can start developing your own players, get buy in from your stakeholders and sponsors that might be a bit of pain for a couple of seasons , but these systems will play dividends.as opposed to forking 30k for a super rugby player from another province who lets face it, won’t hang around was the money runs out.
You may or may not be shocked to learn , many of Counties Manukau’s super rugby players were all on the 20-25 k Mark.. -

@mikey07 Bus is living up in Auckland. Rumour is that he has had offers fromm North Harbour and Auckland.
I hope Auckland aren't pursuing him.
His best bet for game time would probably be at Harbour.

@Chris Not surprised. It was only a matter of time. His partner plays for Canterbury's women's team and with Tamanivalu overseas, nothing really keeping him with Taranaki. But geez, isn't Canterbury stacked enough already? Especially if they get to play their ABs, this year?

@Stargazer Canterbury doesn't have a lot of Crusaders in the outside backs. Just Bridge and Ennor. We do get McKay, Ngani Punivai and Sam Gilbert back from the Highlanders though. But last year we were thin and played Dallas McLeod on the wing. So this signing is welcome. Not sure if Patrick Osborne is around at all this year after a fleeting appearance in 2019?
That Ta$man back three is ridiculous. How will they select from Havili'i, Jordan, Leicester F, Alaimalo, Reece and Telea? Then they have Nankivell, Fonotia and Paea in midfield, Hunt, O'Malley and Parata at 10 and Christie at half back. Yikes.

So far, the squads haven't even been confirmed yet.
