Blues v Chiefs

A few thoughts after a rewatch.
GCT had a very good game but he is pretty similar to Patrick Tuipolutu. They are not complementary at all. With Robinson out with injury, the Blues don't try to disrupt the opposition's lineout as they did in the first round of the competition. So, despite their small size, the Chiefs forwards won their own throws and put a lot of pressure on their Blues opponents, thanks to the quality of their possession. Maybe it is time to try another combination. Pierce fared very well during the SA tour. He is a tall guy who can jump. He has to be given his chance. -

On subject of reffing, ALB pass for Alaimalo try was forward.
I think the TV misleads - I thought the same thing , but once you look a tthe angles it looked clearly backwards.
The BB pass called forward, on the other hand, drifted forward in the air...

I’ll take another look. The BB pass had swerve on it — thrown backwards but as pass started to come down swerved forwards. Dud call.

Watched it very carefully. ALB swings his arm round and back, but release point is before hands travel back and ball travels parallel with line of sight, whereas ten yard line angling backwards against line of sight.
But it's in the book, as is result.
