@mariner4life Selwood is the one I can’t stand.
He's a fucking grub with superstar protection
-
How did we lose that????
Some of our inexperience showed in the final quarter.
Well done Freo
-
Was that Richmond game as bad as the scorecard suggests?
-
@mariner4life yes
Pouring with rain didn’t help
-
Fuck. Another ugly scrappy defensive shitfight.
AFL has some issues.
-
Pissing rain though.
It does seem that the only time you ever find space is on the counter. If you can't move the ball quickly and efficiently in that 10-20 second period then it becomes exponentially harder to progress.
I'm not sure what the solution is though, other than some sort of netball-esque 'zones' system.

it's coaching as well.
at one point last night Geelong got a turnover, hit a mark just on the 50 right in the middle, and the guy wheeled around to be presented with...
no one. Geelong didn't have a single player in their forward 50. byt the time they arrived, the same number of Collingwood players had arrived. Geelong didn't even score a point.
sending everyone up the Ground to stop the other team scoring at all costs, and minimising any risk is just killing teh spectacle.
Same as every pro football code
How can you not create space on a fucking cricket field?
-
thought we might have had a bye or something...no such luck, with Heeney out for the season I cant see us improving, annoyingly we'll be relying on papley even more than we have too which could piss him off even more and so i expect another tranfer request

True. I think the easiest potential solution is to limit interchange rotations. You'd hope more tired legs in the second half means less flooding and more space to exploit.
-
I think the shorter quarters as well are contributing to the game not opening up due to lack of fatigue ,
Coaches are setting up defensive structures they are able to maintain throughout
It’s a weird season , really lacking the usual passion here in Melbourne

lad got some big boots to fill
-
Wow. Just watched the last 2 minutes of Port v Blues. Great finish.
Port down by 4 points with just over a minute and Grey misses an easy snap metres from goal. Blues kick in and then port get ball back and Grey marks in the pocket with 15 seconds to go. Siren goes, tight angle. Nails it. Redemption and game over.

This season is drunk

And if we don’t win tomorrow night against the Crows the season will be officially over and I will not watch another game.
