Am I allowed to say I don't mind this Aussie cricket team, without king fluffybunnies Haddin and Mitchell they seem to be a good normal sporting team, even Warner seems to have matured a bit. I don't mind Smith at all, and seem to have a few decent bowlers that don't need to be idiots ale Mitchell.

Which Mitch? -
Nick, I'm guessing Dan's referring to Mitchell Johnson
-
I said I'd be stoked if we somehow got to 300, 370 is bonus territory after being put in. Thought it'd be game over pretty quickly but we are right in this.

If either of Southee or Boult doesn't find their groove early I hope Baz doesn't hesitate to give Henry a go with the new ball.
-
Thata boy Boulty

Wow. So glad I stayed up for this. Missus came in to tell me to come to bed and ended up asleep in my lap on the couch....got a bit of a fright when the ton came up

Never heard a guy call it that before..
-

I wasn't able to watch any of the cricket today and didn't even know the scorecard until I saw the 6 pm news.

I hope Sky will be showing a full replay so I can see BMac's century.

Looking forward to early wickets tomorrow morning though.
-

someone needs to sneak into Hagley Oval tonight and get plenty of water on the pitch!

P.S. you just made Virgil and rotated's Shit List for saying that :D
-

Well that was fun - and historic. Fastest ever test 100 after 140 years or so - most of the rest made by players going for their shots with nothing to lose (Richards and Gilchrist anyway, can't remember the circumstances of Misbah's 56 ball ton). BMac comes in at nothing for 3 with a run rate of virtually zero and breaks the record - madness. His usual mixture of horrible swipes and fantastic hits. The shot for his second ball was terrible, a cross-bat swipe that flew over first slip. But then the charges down the pitch, some fantastic cricket shots and the Aussie bowlers couldn't bowl a length to him because they didn't know where he would be. The fact that it was his final test is quite sad really, it is unlikely there will never be another batsman like him.

Awful shots by Anderson and Southee to get out. Anderson batted really well but what was he thinking with that? And Southee - I know you have no defensive technique but you don't have to hit every ball in the air.

Incredible day for stattos - Williamson was on 3 after 54 balls, BMac on 100 - surely there can have never been such a difference in strike rates between 2 players who had a partnership.

NZ were 32-2 off 19.4 when McCullum walked in. 46 overs later, they have score 338 more runs - that's well over 7 runs per over and a superb ODI score.
