@voodoo The Admiral was loyal. Good things come to those who wait.
Chuck chased a ring with the Suns and then the Rockets.
Derek Fisher was loyal and won about 15 rings, I don't see him on anyone's favourite list...😉

If it wasn't for MJ he would have won at least one ring, with the Suns. MJ blocked Stockton and Malone as well

@Bovidae I love the legend of Russell, but the fact is that I've never seen the man play! Not a whole game anyway, just some grainy clips, and even then not many.
So he also goes into my "massive respect, but can't be a favourite" bucket
Same for me. That rules out Mikan, West, Baylor, Cousy, Russell and Chamberlain among others.

Jesus, the Blazers and especially the Knicks weren't winning championships if Jordan wasn't around. The Jazz, yes. Suns with CB, yes. But Drexler and Cliff Robinson? Ewing and Mark Jackson??
Huh?
You realise the Blazers played the Bulls in the 92 Finals right?

Yep. And to assume they win if Jordan isn't there, is to assume they beat whomever else wins the Eastern Conference, or even the Bulls led by Pippen. The Blazers won 57 games that year. The Cavs also won 57 games and had the second best record in the East. They lost the EC Finals 4-2, same scoreline as the Blazers lost by in the Finals. In the Blazers' favour is that they won their 57 in a division where all but one team had a plus. 500 record. But it's not a fait accompli like the Jazz winning later in the 90s would have been.

G Maurice Cheeks No. 10 (West Texas A&M)
G Andrew Toney No. 22 (Louisiana)
C Moses Malone No. 2 (Petersberg High School)
F Bobby Jones No. 24 (North Carolina)
F Julius Erving No. 6 (UMass)I saw the Bad Boys, Michael’s Bull’s, Larry’s Celtics, Magic (and Kareem, and Kobe’s) Laker’s, and Tim Duncan’s dynasty. But the best I ever saw in person was that team above. They would have beaten the Harlem Globetrotters. That’s how good they were. And then they blew it up.

That was a great team, no doubt! Though I have to say, every single other champion over the past 20yrs would also beat the Harlem Globetrotters. 4-0. No question.

C - Hakeem Olajuwon
PF - Kevin Garnett
SF - James Worthy
PG - Magic
SG - MJOf all time, Worthy was my man. He was the anchor that kept that awesome Lakers team together. He always defended the oppositions most dangerous players, always could be counted on for that clutch basket. Always gave it his all.
Quintessential quiet achiever!
