Chiefs 2020
-
Some more information behind the Chiefs Country Centurion Cup. I hadn't realised that the Chiefs Dev team will only play one game this season.
-
Some injury updates in this:
The Chiefs are set to be boosted by the return of Tumua Manu, who hasn't yet played this season due to a shoulder injury, but who was one of the team's better performers last year and will now only add to the midfield riches. Prop Nepo Laulala is back on the training paddock but is at least another week away, following his knee injury against the Blues in round one. Angus Ta'avao's campaign is all but over, with a 12-week recovery time for surgery on his quadricep, while Luke Jacobson was not taking a full part in training as he faces some more time on the sideline with his hamstring issue

I was just reading that article. At the start of the season I was expecting ALB and either Manu or Nankivell to be the preferred midfield but Tupaea has started more often than Nankivell. I am sure even he is surprised by that.
What the Brumbies loss showed was that the likes of Boshier, Ardron, Weber and Alaimalo need to be starting.

For sure, especially Boshier, missed the niggle.
The Chiefs missed a presence at the breakdown outside of Cane. Karpik lacks size to have any effect at this level.
Going forward I would play Boshier at 6 and Cane at 7.

The article on the Chiefs website (https://www.chiefs.co.nz/news-item/anton-lienert-brown-recommits-to-gallagher-chiefs) says ALB has only played 19 games for Waikato, and those would have been in 2014-15. ABs don't play for their province anymore so any overseas contract would have to be in the SR window.

New limited edition jersey for the Chiefs incoming.
