    Melbourne Utd beat the Breakers 2-1 over the season although the Points % across the 3 games is in the Breakers' favour.
    The Breakers have a 3-0 record over the Bullets
    The Bullets beat United 2-1

    From the NBL website:

    #4 – NEW ZEALAND BREAKERS (14-13, 101.6%)
    Remaining fixture: vs South East Melbourne (Friday)

    Ā· A Breakers win on Friday will set a target for the Bullets and United. At present, New Zealand has a six-point advantage over Melbourne and a 23-point advantage over Brisbane
    Ā· The Breakers can win this game and still miss the finals, but can also lose this game and make the finals
    Ā· Whatever happens on Friday, New Zealand will have to sit back over the weekend and wait for other results to learn their fate
    Ā· The best scenario for the Breakers is for Cairns to beat Melbourne on Thursday, New Zealand defeats Phoenix and then hope for Brisbane not beating Cairns by more than around 20-points. If that occurs, New Zealand will be guaranteed a finals place

    #5 – BRISBANE BULLETS (14-13, 100.6%)
    Remaining fixture: vs Cairns (Saturday)

    Ā· With a percentage significantly lower than Breakers and United, the Bullets need to beat Cairns by a healthy margin to have a chance of making the finals
    Ā· A loss to the Taipans will eliminate Brisbane from finals contention
    Ā· The Bullets’ best scenario would be United losing to Cairns on Thursday and the Breakers losing to the Phoenix. If that happens, a Brisbane win by any margin over Cairns will see them make the finals.

    #6 – MELBOURNE UNITED (13-13, 101.8%)
    Remaining fixture: vs Cairns (Thursday), at South East Melbourne (Sunday)

    Ā· Melbourne can set themselves up nicely if they beat Cairns on Thursday. With a healthy percentage, United will have the luxury of knowing exactly what margin they would need to beat the Phoenix by in the final game of the season if New Zealand and/or Brisbane has reached 15 wins
    Ā· If United lose to the Taipans, they can still make it to the finals, but will need to beat the Phoenix on Sunday, while relying rely on the Breakers and Bullets losing their matches
    Ā· All things considered, of the three contenders for fourth, Melbourne have the largest degree of self-control in their own destiny.

    Should two or more teams be tied on Game Winning Percentage at the conclusion of the Regular Season, the below process is followed to determine who holds the higher position on the ladder:

    1. Dividing points ā€œforā€ by points ā€œagainstā€ (Points Percentage);
    2. The win loss ratio in only those games played between the tied teams;
    3. The Points Percentage from games played between the tied teams is calculated;
    4. The team who won the most quarters during the Regular Season;
    5. The team who won the most quarters in the games played between the tied teams;
    6. A barrel draw which is to be conducted in the presence of a protest/appeals member and must be audio/visually recorded.

    Ahh yes the table I looked didn’t have the abandoned game result.

    So Points, then %, then series split.

    Don’t think it will get to the 3rd, so really we just need to win and win biggish.

    On the radio they said we need to win by 23 goals more than our rival who plays them on Sunday.

    Looks like the season's done lads, that's a massive ask unless somehow the other fellas drop a game.

    apologies - can't remember the names, don't want ot guess, and can't be arsed googling

    @nzzp Melbourne United are the rivals also vying for playoffs who are playing the common opponent on Sunday (South East Melbourne Phoenix).

    that's why I got confused. I wrote Melbourne, then I tried to figure out who they were playing. The OTHER Melbourne team clearly 😐

    The disappointing thing is Melbourne are a bit shit. We were terrible last night, turned the ball over constantly, and yet the game was in doubt for ages.

    And fuck Melo Trimble.

    How good was that last night.

    Damn proud of our boys. Sure it was basically an NBL mixed team for the Boomers, but we were as well. When the Tall Blacks have 6 players in double figures and the likes of Te Rangi, Loe, Ngatai and Illi are dominating, it says a lot!

    Pero got the boys humming with intensity on D and some smart offence that took advantage of mismatches.

    It’s been a long 11 years, but hey not as long as Aussies have held the Bledisloe šŸ˜€

    @ACT-Crusader but shit, come on, let's not kid ourselves about the opposition! With all players available we would lose by 30, 9 times out of 10.

    @voodoo bro I don’t care if they put Crocodile Dundee in that green jersey, getting a win against the Boomers any time is to be celebrated. A very long time in between drinks and for some of our young guys, a bit of a winning feeling will give us a shot in the arm for the other two qualifiers.
