@KiwiPie Ronchi, Neesham, CdG?
Edit: I misread it to be the scores were made by NZers, but after reading again I see the scores were scored in NZ.
So I’ll change mine to
Ronchi, Stonis and the Sri Lankan guy who tore us apart a season or two ago... is it Perera??? Think his brother was also in the team?
-
Ronchi was presumably his 170 against Sri Lanka. One of the most insane innings you'll ever see in terms of swinging a match.
I'd guess that the second place is a Sri Lankan, but I can't remember his name. He plundered about 300 runs in a 5 match series, including a fantastic century. Him and Neesham traded high tempo innings that entire series. His name might have been Chandimal or Kamara?
-
Well, I guess this ones goes into the 'delicate petal' area

Indeed.

Send the whiny do gooder back to England.
That is one hell of a wind up and it goes on and on and on.... I got maybe 1/3 through it before I stormed back here to whine about the whiner!
Did the article mention she was at the game with her mate Golly?

Sadly, these days I cannot tell if this is satire or real.
Is it real? Competing on Wokeness?

This is correct - Ronchi, Stoinis and Perera - the only 3 to get to 140 batting at 7 in an ODI.

I'd forgotten about the Stoinis innings. Interesting, only Ronchi's was pat of a winning effort. Ronchi was also the only one to do it in the first innings too.

@KiwiPie No-one else guessing, so an initial offering of Anderson, Ronchi and Dhoni.
0/3!!
1/3. Ronchi is correct.
Yeah - I was thinking Corey probably batted higher than 7 in his Q'town effort. He batted at 5 and it was 2014 anyway.

I had too and I was at the game - was stressful as fuck. Massive relief when we finally got a run out to end it, felt a bit sorry for him after that as he was going to hit them home in one of the most remarkable ODI innings of all time.

I wasn't at the game but was watching at home. I remember going from relaxed (as we had them on the ropes) and enjoying what seemed like a bit of a cameo in an otherwise easy victory to more and more stressed as he just kept on clearing the rope. I went nuts when we finally got the last wicket.
-
@Cyclops it made for a hell of a finish. We were high fiving strangers around us when we got the final wicket!
-
Results like that are incredible. I remember a T20 against Australia around 2009/10 where Baz got a century and lead us to around 200, only for it to wind up in a super over which we managed to win. That crowd was the most amped up I've ever been in. Vettori said afterwards that it was the loudest crowd he'd ever played in front of in NZ.

That would have been replaced by the CWC semi final at Eden park in 2015...

Small grounds get dramatic games
Yes. Eden Park and Seddon Park have been the venues for some of the best ODIs/T20s. I remember being at a game at Seddon Park in the early 1990s when a young all-rounder named Jeff Wilson got us home against Aust.

@nzzp not sure why she felt the need to get involved, but wowserism is a common complaint the other way, and if it's a requirement of being a security guard that you give name, rank and serial number when asked, then not giving that information when asked by a media representative is fucking stupid.

as far as I know, security guards are just citizens. They have no more authority to touch, expel or arrest someone as you or I. They don't have ranks.
Sworn police officers, on the other hand, must do this. It's like complaining that the McDonald's employee you're berating (pro tip: similar hourly rate) won't give you their name/number/DOB/etc.
It's not cool not to front that if you're a security guard, but I think most of their power comes from the appearance as 'police lite'.
