Super Rugby Predictions

whole comp feels very open this year, which is a good thing.
I get the feeling the ability to generate enough wins is soaked in to the timber in Christchurch, and they will top the conference without always looking like the best side. They've got the best 10 in NZ, strike power in the backs, and when has a Crusaders pack ever not provided ball? They are still the standard to which all others must aspire.
The Chiefs have a new coach, a new old 10, and will take a few weeks to settle.
The Canes look mediocre in too many key positions
The Blues have good names on paper, but will struggle in the direction department unless someone has a form reversal
The Highlanders are a club side.I also think NZ teams will drop more games against overseas opponents than recent years.
Waratahs to win in Aus, because they have to, don't they? The Reds have an exciting young team, but i don't think Thorn can coach. The Brumbies lost most of their best players. Rebels the main threat.
I can't even name the South African sides, or which of their good players still live there, so I'll leave that to Stargazer, and go with who he picks.
Most tries and break out player to that Jordan kid from the South Central Vikings.

I must have missed the memo about the Rebels.
EDIT: Found this and realised that the Rebels have decided to play Quidditch instead this year

I expect NZ teams to be significantly worse this year Too much talent gone Still rate Canes & Chiefs to finish top 8 though
Stormers are wild cards - best pack in SR & 2 X Factors in Leyds/Willemse likely get a wildcard spot
I expect a Crusaders Jaguares rematch again in final
Argies have a better squad this year with infusion of Talent from U20s teamIF they start season well for once, they could host the final

@Duluth I just don't get the Chiefs "love" in the past few weeks.
Nothing they have done suggests they will be any better this year. Lost their best player, bringing an out of form fossil back to guide the ship and we have no idea how Gatland adapts to super rugby.
I won't be surprised if we are a bit hopeless.
Crusaders are prolly going to win because Crusaders
DMac is why Chiefs are legit Guy is a stud Won games by himself If they can get decent play at Fly half, they should be a Semi final team
Their props go 4 deep, Cane, Gus Salukulo is solid at 8 & Ardron would be good enough to play for ABs
-
NZ Conference Winner?
Chiefs. Could easily be Crusaders but i've gone Chiefs.Aus Conference Winner?
Tahs. I think it will be a shootout between Tahs and Brumbies.SA Conference Winner?
Jaguares. Will back them to win the conference again.Overall Winner?
Chiefs. I think it will come down to Chiefs vs Crusaders for top of conference and whoever is should be in the box seatPlayer of the Year?
Will Jordan. I say he cements himself this season. Most Tries?
Jordan PetaiaBreakthrough Player?
Mark Nawaqanitawase (Waratahs) -
NZ conf, I can't make up my mind, but will go for Chiefs just ahead of Crusaders
Aus conf, Brumbies just ahead of Reds
SA conf, No idea would be too wild of a guess.Overall, maybe Crusaders

Wow. Unknown AB quality and a fullback that will win games for us. Excellent news.
Hopefully we will be too legit to quit, bruv.

NZ Conference Winner?
Crusaders
Aus Conference Winner?
Waratahs
SA Conference Winner?
Stormers
Overall Winner?
Chiefs - I think by the time the playoffs come around they will have enough steel in their team to get across the line in finals footy.
Player of the Year?
Damian McKenzie - he will be itching to get back and I expect him to once again light up the competition.
Most Tries?
Will Jordan - the guy is an All Black in waiting.
Breakthrough Player?
Devan Flanders - with Ardie Savea out I expect Flanders to showcase the class that has him touted as a future A.B.
