Can't believe those Jetstar guys, unbelievably incompetent.

I also have a mate nicknamed "slider" for obvious reasons - in context (it was a 6 seater and everybody was unharmed). The jokes go on though.

Nice little piece for aviation nerds:

I've known Dave for a couple of decades and he is possibly the nicest man on the planet. If you have been to an airshow in NZ you have probably seen his tiger moth display. Possibly the Avro Anson, and he also flew the first Mosquito that they restored.

We get more gorgeous aerial footage and our first look at the high-speed test aircraft Maverick flies as a set piece in the film.

Haha. I ferried a C402 up from Townsville up to Lae years ago, so all the way up the eastern edge of Cape York. When I arrived, the boss came out to inspect his new plane and his first words were "what's this all over it? It appears to be salt?"

"No idea mate, was like that when I got it".

That airplane is NASA’s X-59 QueSST (short for Quiet SuperSonic Technology), an experimental piloted aircraft designed to fly faster than sound without

It might not have much of a sonic boom but how are you supposed to see to land it? Auto land only? Cameras? That's why concorde had a movable nose cone.

You normally rely on engine noise to mask Mile High Club attempts.

The joystick seems to be the only place for her to sit...and nobody else to hear it.

Yep. In the modern world we have all female pilots who are in the box office, just to keep it fair.
