If its any consolation the pink ball hasnt done much in Adelaide and Perth has been a road the last couple of years.. in saying that Jeets up against that lot, is a big ask

There's only been one test match at new Perth Stadium, and the pitch was a 'shocker' said the batting mafia. Not a road. Cracker of a test match. Paine gutsing it out v Bumrah on a pitch with dodgy bounce.
No idea what it will do this time though, 2 years young, no history, plus it is a drop-in.

How are you feeling about that now?
There was a test in NZ quite recently that is starting to look quite similar (unfortunately it is the other way around).
Looking back, we only batted for four sessions. But that said, I'm pretty relaxed. Draw or England win only two options now.

I think we're actually too good to have one of those "ye olde" style NZ collapses.
We can still collapse - but we probably have to be a bit blasted out. Latham, Williamson, Taylor, Nicholls, Watling are collectively too good to all fall apart and throw their wickets away on a flattish pitch.
If the Australians put us in on a lively pitch and unleash Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins we might easily get blasted out.

I would like to think so too Chris, but earlier I suggested Jeet could stick around and the reverse happened ha ha, so I will stick to collapse tomorrow for now

Poms'll have to roll us in about less than 50 overs tomorrow to win.
If they do, all credit to them and we'll have to sing Led Zepps "Nobody's fault but mine" all the way to Perth.
Up to our best in Kane and Ross to complete the series win by batting the entire 1st session ( he types jinxingly!)

Crunched some numbers and I reckon we have to bat to midway of the last session to be safe.
75 overs at 2.5rpo = 187
Plus 76 on the board
Less 101 deficit
Target = 163 in 15 overs = 10.9 rpo
Would think that's safe.70 overs at 2.5 = Target of 150 @ 7.5

Possibly achievableWith no restrictions on ultra defensive fields, more latitude to bowl negatively and the ability to bowl Wagner unchanged at one end 7.5 RPO would be bloody difficult.
