Curry, England, Eddie, Ntamack, TJ try
It's Tipex time
PSDT, SA, Erasmus, Ntamack, TJ try

I am going to say
Kolbe, Japan, Erasmus, Jantjies
Japan has to win either team or coach. I think they get team.
Personally I would like du Toit to win, but Kolbe deserves it no less

The world rugby awards do feel a little bit pointless in WC years.
Coach = WC winning coach
Team = WC winning teamI don't know how SA got team of the year. Japan all the way for me- beating Ireland, getting out of the pool; by comparison, SA big achievement was winning the RWC despite a loss, and a narrow points decision in the RC.
Ah well, rugby politics I presume

Depends on whehter you just want to choose the best team (pro tip: there's an RWC for that), or the team that performed above its level.
If it's the best, then obviously SA. But a team that confounded everyone, played rugby I'd pay to watch, and played as a team greater than the sum of its parts... Japan all the way.

@MajorRage Not in 2015.
The Coach of the Year went to Michael Cheika.
Four years on it seems like an even worse joke.

I'm good with SA being team of the year, but I'd pick Jamie J as coach of the year for exactly your reasons above.

September 2017 the Boks lose 57-0 to the AB's. Springbok rugby is in freefall. Everyone with points to score has the knives out. Rassie appointed SA coach 1 March 2018. Every points-scoring politician has a ready and eager soundbyte about team composition, lack-of team transformation. Top players are leaving SA in droves to go and play overseas away from the politics and administrative incompetence and interference.
18 months later Rassie delivers the RWC.
I think he deserves the accolade.

@Billy-Webb I understand your reasoning. Just disagree.

Disagree? Disagree?!! But... but... but... this is TSF. No-one on here ever has a differing opinion?
Don't mind that booboo. I have immense respect for what JJ, his coaching group and the Japanese team achieved this year.

Hell yeah, first ever wins against Ireland and Scotland to go through the pool stages unbeaten for the first time, making their first ever quarter final. Lots of firsts there - easily the team of the year for me.
