27 laps so far and no proper crash. Christ this race is boring. Pity the rain was yesterday.

So far. It can fire up any time

Last 20 laps has been exciting if you're interested in panel beating. We're entering the white line, chequered flag fever zone.

It's good fun. I'm getting blasted on pilsner and shiraz, having a great time on the couch

Well done to Scotty Mac. Dice rolled his way and he held his nerve brilliantly.

I wonder if Whincup could have made it if he conserved fuel and gambled on safety cars

Watching this at the end yesterday it's amazing how this race is basically a 1,000km sprint now. I remember when i first used to watch, with Brocky, DJ, Grice, Perkins and those guys, and the winner normally got to parade the last lap, waving at the hill on the way past etc (and it was a bit later in the day too).
Now? It's hammer down the whole way. And a 1,000km comes down to the last fuel stop, and a bit of luck with the safety cars.
Whincup will be kicking himself he didn't take the chance of making it.

First time in years that I watched most of that.
It was a bit disappointing those late safety cars came out, because I was looking forward to an old time finish with cars spluttering to a halt half a lap from the finish.
I think Whincup would've been a good bet if he'd kept the lead and played the same cards as Scotty.
New Zealand one-two in Australia's Great Race!
