EPL 19/20

Spurs were appalling in a 3-0 loss vs Brighton. We are looking like a relegation zone team sadly, the players look like they have given up on the manager. I'm not sure if Poch will survive this, if he stays they need to perform major surgery on the player roster to bring in fresh blood

Big lead already for Liverpool and they seem to have mastered the art of winning ugly. Not all over yet and City are equipped to win 15 in a row .... but I'm calling it - Liverpool's title to lose!
Watched the 2nd half of Newcastle v Man U this morning and surely Ole hasn't got long to turn things around. 17 points from the last 17 league games is relegation form and they just look so slow and uninspired - they have no central striker (Rashford can't do the job) and the sale of Lukaku is looking bad with no replacement brought in.

@MajorRage we probably need to drop a bunch of the wantaway players and follow Chelsea in playing the yoof. No sense in holding on to guys who have mentally checked out
Is money the fundamental problem? If these are correct
you can see why Eriksen isn't a happy chap.

I'm pretty sure our wage structure is such that he, and others can earn a lot more elsewhere. He will be free to walk in the Summer and I think any club that wants him will be happy to wait. He wants to go to the dumpster fire that is RM. He recently reportedly turned down a new 200,000 GBP a week deal (??!!?!?), but Jack Wilshire gets 400K a week so you can see the problem

Online sources have Wilshere at 100K per week - there's no way he could command 400K per week, that is Alexis Sanchez territory.

Clearly the person that told me that was talking out his arse then! Would fit in perfectly here 🤣. I think a bunch of our players are infected with what Pat Riley called the disease of me. The success that we've had has made them look at greener pastures (and rightfully so). Some of our players might be going downhill now, the art is to sell these guys before you feel you need to, and reload with fresh players who inject new energy into the squad. At least three of our first team players will walk for free in the Summer

Another interesting weekend - Liverpool finally drop a point, Man City get back on track without playing a single centre-back, Chelsea keep on track as do Leicester, the Arse lose to Sheff United (a very Arsey result) and Spurs are lucky to scrape a draw with Watford.
The VAR continues to baffle all - not a single ref has chosen to run to the sideline to check a monitor even though it is available to them. Penalty decisions are never overturned even for clear hacks (Spurs v Watford) although a goal was disallowed for a minor unintentional brush (Leicester v Burnley) and offsides are measure to the millimetre but not handballs if there is a question of shoulder or arm (Spurs v Watford) - when it was probably both shoulder and arm given the size of a football.
-
@Cyclops Can't stand it myself. I watch mainly Serie A football and some of the decisions there are bizarre. Aston Villa were robbed of a goal against Brighton because of it as well because of a Matt Ryan howler which somehow turned into him getting fouled!
Think the game would be better off without it.

Liverpool beat City to go 8 points up
Over Leicester and Chelsea! City drop to 4th
Sheffield are 5th! But that is where the mid-table mess starts, with 3 points separating 5th and 15th.
For all Liverpool supporters, this now turns in to a 26-game stress as they try and maintain this massive gap. You know City are going to go on a streak at some point.
Some mad stats on Liverpool's 50 games since the start of last season. games lost = 1. Points dropped = 19. And they still couldn't win the title.
-
@mariner4life Liverpool now has a run of mid to lower table teams through to Christmas, while Man City has a run of tricky fixtures.
I'll be surprised if Liverpool aren't further ahead of City by Christmas.

Has the PL ever been decided so early?? Even at the height of Man U in the late 90's early 2000's??
Ever multi you put on should land on Liverpool to win as a % boost
