Spark Sport

@No-Quarter I guess I'm talking specifically about watching live sport, where you have to wait for it to be on - and I'm wondering what they're going to be able to add to the experience.
Perhaps it will be fern comments flashing into the game feed in real time?

@nzzp Yeah - but, to be honest, watching sport on a phone doesn't really do it for me.
That's me too. My preference is always to watch sport and movies/TV shows on a big screen. The only time I would use the iPad or computer is out of necessity, not because I want to. Fark watching a whole game on a phone.

You are and will see the same thing with driverless cars. They get held to a way higher standard even though they are already far safer than the average idiot behind the wheel.
Whilst that is true - the cars may actually work. Spark sport doesn't. I really don't want my car just randomly stopping to buffer, and if I want to reverse I want to see where I'm going not just be told that I have been doing it for 15 seconds.
-
@mariner4life the only sport I actually prefer listening to than watching live.
I loves me Test cricket but one day at the actual match is enough, but I'll gladly have the radio on for all 5.

OK I accept my POV is coloured by the fact I had no issues on Saturday night but I do think there's been a massive over-reaction to Sparks problems.
I mean anytime there's any fucking drizzle about there's a high probability you'll lose your Sky feed. Spark also did have a Plan B in place and initiated it although it seems that they have communicated this better.
Yep - it's a perspective thing. New and Scary means anything less than perfect has the media frothing at the mouth ... while Sky dropping out from time to time is just part of the service.
The fail where I was on Saturday was annoying but not consequential -we didn't lose any of the game, just paused for 2-3 seconds and then dropped quality.

And they're waaay safer for suicide bombers!

@mariner4life Just pointing out why they are a long way from ever becoming a thing.

maybe not as far as you think, at least in some inner-city restricted areas.
-
@mariner4life Probably not - but, I don't think I'll be investing in them.

Surely it's much cheaper to get a drone and put your bomb on that than buy an expensive self driving car.

I was keeping with the suicide bomber theme so was thinking of those ones you buy in camera shops more so than the tricked out US ones.
