Not a bad hitout for our boys. That run by Brazil was too much to come back from. Abercrombie was cold as. Nice to see Webster hitting shots.
Some strange rotations from Henare I thought.

I was reading earlier today that Canada has 17 NBA players and that 15 of them one-by-one turned down the opportunity to represent their country.
Am I mistaken in thinking maybe the players don’t take this tournament seriously and simply don’t care... or are NBA teams refusing to allow them to play? (Bit o’ both?)

@Salacious-Crumb
My guess would be the players don't care - the Olympics are the pinnacle of the international game, the amount of money they receive for playing is minuscule compared to the NBA, and if they are injured then it could damage their livelihood. -

The USA only has one All Star, in Kemba Walker.
And then in 2020 all these pricks will want in on the Olympics.
At least Giannis has made it there for Greece.
And Jokic for Serbia.
A few other OZ NBA players other than Simmons unavailable as well - Thon Maker, Ryan Broekhoff, Bolden,

I think for the US at least it’s a cycle thing. All the big names have played in a couple of tournaments at the very least. Time for others to have a turn.
I agree with @shark that some big names will want in next year, but I see guys like Kemba and Donovan back. Harrison Barnes is a team guy and has been there before so might be in again. Tatum has the sort of game that is made for int’l ball so will be around for a while as well. But there are some definite b-graders on this team that are making up the numbers

What a game between Turkey and US. US win by 1 in OT.
The NBA players for Turkey coming up big. İlyasova excellent and Osman big in the 4th and OT. Korkmaz hit some big shots and played with real speed.
Also former NBL Cairns guard, Wilbekin played well off the bench for Turkey also.
