The French Refs will need to check with the TMOs before giving Red Cards for high tackles.

Um. Pretty sure the barrett red card did go via the tmo...

Yeah it did - at least for Kermit (muppet frog) to rule on it.

In fact, I struggle to think of any red card that the ref has given without asking first for a TMO review.

Maybe Wayne Barnes Jamie Heaslip vs mccaw. Think he went red without asking.

Don't think the TMO would have disagreed with the red card for Heaslip.

@sparky been ages since I saw that. The first knee at 1:14 is straight to the head. Barnes got it right on that occasion

Got that right. The thing that boggles my brain is he's 98% a good ref, and then has those brain explosion/howlers that blow up the games.

This is all post-07 though ... whistle properly swallowed that day

@taniwharugby Not giving that shit a click. The title and the name Stuart Barnes say enough.

@Stargazer this line pretty much sums up the article:

"… New Zealand, the most positive attacking team in the world, have their flip side. They are also the most cynical cheats at a breakdown."

It's all jealousy 'cos ABs are so good at it. All part of the game, giving away penalties when needed etc. Every team does it, but like most things, ABs the best at it.

I'd love to see Owen Farrell go in for one of his trademark shoulder only tackles and get marched. Lots of teams out there that engage in proper filth but no one is moaning about them

Was Colin Farrell around long enough to gain a reputation for shoulder only tackles. Here are the reasons why he did not stay in the All Blacks for any period of time.

In his favour he did at least find touch with most of his kicks and the one he didn't he forced the Lions player into a knock on. It was also delivishily cold ana rainy at Athletic Park and very heavy underfoot conditions at Lancaster Park. Quinny in fine voice though.

@Higgins I've never seen what he looks like before, he's like a mini Hulk Hogan with that hair.

@Stargazer Fatty Barnes is hoping for a promotion to the Sunday Times Rugby section's official Troll-in-Residence when the Walrus retires and hangs up his poisonous quill.

Worst AB of all time is a stretch. He was bloody good at FB for Akl though. His forte was running and 77 was one of the wettest winters on record so it's fair to say nothing was in his favour.

I haven’t bothered watching that video above but whenever I see Farrell I say a little prayer that England fall into a massive hole at some point.
Mike Brown May be gone but between Farrell and Itoje there is still a lot of face punch ability happening
