Not sure why the Fijians keep kicking possession away.

    Walker-Leawere again. Good turnover.

Because they needed to get it down the right end.

    Full time:
    Maori All Blacks 26 - 17 Fiji

Entertaining game. Much better from the Maori than last week!

Best forwards for me were Douglas and Franklin, with good impact from Walker-Leawere. Best backs, Nankivell, Hall and Wainui.

It's a pity the Maori All Blacks don't participate in the Pacific Nations anymore. It would be great if they could play more games.

@ACT-Crusader Then you need to kick it in touch, or not kick too far and chase. They did neither.

I guess he must've got carded then?

No, he got hit after the whistle by a low level cheap shot. The players got up holding each other collars.

TJ pissed and whined in the commentary until he saw the replay and then conceded Akira had every right to be annoyed.

    Nothing interesting

Akira Ioane showing, yet again, why he doesn’t have the temperament to be an All Black.

    Moronic comment.

Was it Akira that got tackled late? I thought it was IWL with Akira next to him.

IMO it is something he needs to tone down in his game. He is at early Dane Coles level of niggle. Needs to come back to late Dane Coles/BBBR level.

AB coaches made it quite clear he was left out due to fitness.

    Nothing to do with temperament.

I think Fiji will be happy enough with that game as it was obviously a weaker team than played in Suva, and the coaches are looking towards RWC selection. I thought the Fijians might struggle in the dewey conditions but their ball handling was good. They'll be very dangerous on a dry track as their forwards aren't the powder puffs of the past.

    An entertaining game to watch.

@KiwiMurph Being lazy and having a low work rate is also part of his temperament.

It was Walker-Leawere. Not that I thought Akira did anything wrong.

That doesn't explain his game tonight. He was fine off the bench.

@Stargazer Which has nothing to do with the "niggle" criticism.

@KiwiMurph ‘Fitness’ is code for temperament. They don’t have any confidence in him. And probably rightly.

I've never ever seen Akira so much as penalised for anything temperament/niggle related so I cannot buy that at all.

@Tim True, but it was said that he didn't make the ABs because of his (lack of) fitness and that that had nothing to do with his temperament. That's not true. His lack of fitness, laziness and low work rate are all also related to temperament (just as frequent involvement in niggles is).
