Club Rugby NZ 2019 (Not BOP, Magpie, Northland)

All grades in Counties are into semi finals. My home town club Onewhero not in any

Here in the Waikato the some grades are in to semi's. They are going to host a finals day at the Stadium in two weeks.

A good day for my club Te Rapa on the weekend. Our Clydesdales presidents team celebrated 40 years so a bunch of old boys came and the club was full. Our prezzies won our trophy game Vs the Suburbs Stirrers.

Our A team finished top seed in the Division 1 comp after beating Putaruru and we host next weekend and the final will be at the stadium. Our B's smashed Putaruru as well and are a good chance as well.

I hear a few AB's will play club rugby this weekend. BBBR playing somewhere in the Hawkes Bay.

@SammyC Will be interesting depending on who makes the final. If it's Shirley v Marist Albion or if HSOB qualify I guess neither will be affected but the other 3 will struggle I feel.

Donald was with Chiefs so stayed local and mainly played club rugby. I heard he is off to Japan again soon.

Post in the ABs thread re Karl T getting a run for Takapuna tomorrow in the quarter final vs Massey. Also of interest is the man named at number 6.....the one and only Adam Thomson.

Watched Taka play last week against my Northcote side (good guys won) but will prob pop down again to see the above two players in action

So popped down and saw a great game of rugby. Takapuna winning 23-22 with a try converted from sideline (off the post even) with 2 mins to play. Massey had tavita Li on one wing and mark talea (brumbies ?) on other wing.

Both Karl T and Adam Thomson played full games and played well. Funnily my son and I sat down by a lass who turned out to be Adams partner so got all the details about why he’s here and playing. Apparantly has something lined up in the US but it’s on hold so while in NZ he’s keen for some rugby. Got 20mins last week and then after today’s effort should also play next week in the semi final. May be here a while yet by the sounds and could be available for harbour. Hasn't played a lot of rugby since the spine infection (I think 18months off in total and almost 6 months in hopsital) but clearly still has it. Ruthless in the breakdown, useful in lineouts and took almost all the kickoffs although made a clean spill of one. Heard a loud call of 'FINE!!' from behind me in the crowd when it happened.

Well done Adam Thomson, sure he would have happily copped the fine

It would be nice to have a Super rugby level first five. Fosita goes alright, wasn't in any super squads but has international experience.
