I think India's plan is to get to 40 overs needing 8-9 an over and back set batsmen to make the push. Good plan actually. RR is fine as long as they don't lose more wickets for the next 12 overs.
Of course it's good Williamson and Taylor gave them the blueprint - although the interlude didn't help the final surge I suspect many including the Indian batsman thought NZ were making the pitch look worse that it was.

They just haven't been able to find a way to score off Santner. To be fair to Pandya he had to do something. They couldn't play out another five overs for only five runs.
And Pandya couldn't keep going on that bung leg.
