@Stargazer sheesh the Ta$man Invitarional XV seem to announce a new signing everyday.

Are they just the only province with a social media staff member?

It's a bit crap here in Wellington this afternoon and quite frankly I am not prepared to get wet to watch a Ta$man v Wellington game so will not be going out to the Hutt Rec to view the Wgtn v Ta$man fixture thus no report on happenings coming from this quarter. Still does not get me out of standing on the sidelines today as have to watch my whangai grand daughter play her game at 4.00pm!

@Stargazer anyone know what's happened with Brayden Iose? Is he injured at the moment?

@Nogusta I don't know, but his profile is on the Turbos 2019 profile page, so he must be signed for 2019: https://www.turbosrugby.co.nz/turbos-players

@Higgins Just read on Wellington's website that the game was called off.

The match, which was due to be played at the Hutt Recreation Ground on Wednesday afternoon, was cancelled after Ta$man encountered travel problems getting their squad to Wellington.

Wellington have instead held an internal trial at the ground.

@Stargazer Ah just as well I did not got out to the Hutt Rec. Good afternoon of results then, Ta$man losing by default and Wellington not actually winning on the field!

Is Bryn Gatland going to be injured for the NPC? If so, who will play first five for harbour?

@chchfanatic Yep, Caleb Makene's signing was already announced in February; he signed for 2 seasons. We're happy he has come back home! He played his first (preseason) game for the Bay, last night.

@Stargazer you guys can have him. Hasn’t really kicked on yet. Guys aren’t sticking round chch like they used to. Lincoln uni going to be very young next year. They’re struggling for depth now.

@chchfanatic said in Mitre 10 Cup - news, injuries etc:

    Who? Is he any good?

I would think Waikato has enough depth at lock with McWhannell, Tucker, Seu. Throw in young players like Finau and Thompson.

Maybe Bond is not returning. Caird moved to Northland.

@chchfanatic Shalfoon looks a bit small for my liking to make it further from what I saw of him. I've only seen him play once but was hardly blown away from what I saw.

@African-Monkey he was injured all of last year. Bevan Sisson coach of Lincoln rated him better than Ben Morris and Hamish Dalziel. Good kid , personally I’d take him over Will Tucker.

Geez, they're announcing 2 player signings per day now? Magpies fans are lucky to get 2 announcements in a season.
