Slater-"C'mon Smithy whats wrong mate?"
Smith-"You know whats wrong. You made some very personal disparaging comments and now you're trying to dig yourself out of a hole."
Slater-"Smithy, I was just.."
Smith "No Michael! I'm not going to allow you to try and dig yourself out. That's what you do and generally, you just make things worse"
Slater -Patronising tone "Oh come mate it's our first time ever commenting together"
Smith - "And it will be the last"
Then there was silence followed by McCullum and Clarke in the box.
Slater said earlier that the spider cam could hold up to a ton of weight and then made a joke that it could or could not hold Smith.

Sounds like fat boy threw his toys a bit in response to some pretty rancid bait.
....but the very same Smithy made a joke many many years ago on air when someone hit a four that went one bounce into the hot dog cart that he was surprised it didn't hit Nisbo in the back of the head ! ( obviously implying Nisbo loves a hot dog or twenty ) good fun banter, if you can dish it ( which Smithy does ) but can't take it then perhaps it's time to leave the job ?

It wasn't really funny. Pretty lame and Smithy wasn't there at the time. It did sound quite light hearted when Smithy told him off, but he obviously meant it. Something about there not being a shovel large enough to dig himself out of the hole.
Slater does seem to be a dick though and yes he was removed from a flight by airport security due to swearing and abusing 2 female "friends" that he was travelling with. Denies locking himself in the toilet. Flight was delayed by an hour.

I agree, but, I suspect the fat joke was the tip of the iceberg of Slats fuckwittery, and Smithy decided enough is enough I'm calling this fluffybunny out on air.
During the actual commentary it was quite light-hearted when he said it and I found myself nodding that even though the wires can take a tonne of weight, you prolly wouldn't want smithy harnessed up and slinging across the field.

Worked for me when I was in the UK and got to 110kg and my super skinny fluffybunny cyclist mate said I'd been overindulging in the curries and guinesses.

I heard on Newstalk ZB ( only station I can get in the work car ) that Doctors aren't allowed to tell someone they're obese anymore cos it might hurt their feelings.
