    Down 19-3 at HT. Only seen the last 15 minutes or so but NZ look poor.

    Think we need a BP at minimum to make the semi.

    THought NZ would struggle in this one. SA handicap +7.5 was generous but wtf is happening in Aus game? Have they rested players? Gonna wreck my multi

    @JK
    Aus is guaranteed a semi so could be playing their 2nds.

    If NZ lose this then the coach has to go. Team is painful to watch at times.

    Makes the decision to take 3 points when down 12-0 with a man advantage even more moronic...

    @KiwiMurph
    Lots of dumb decisions which could be poor selections or poor coaching, either way heads need to roll.

    22-10. NZ needs a converted try minimum or they will be playing for 5th.

    NZ gets the try but then concedes a penalty for collapsing a maul. 25-17. Need any points to go through.

    NZ lose 25-17 and are playing for 5th. Could be harsh but I'll just say that they didn't deserve any better.

    Semis: Arg v Aus and SA v Fra

    5th: NZ v Wal and Ire v Eng

    So the JWC uses the 4+ try bonus point and not the "3 tries more than the opponent" bonus point like in SR. That's why Australia and France - despite suffering bigger losses than NZ - have a bonus point and go through to the semis, and NZ doesn't.

    Edited to add that it has rained cards in some games (can't say anything about them being deserved or not, because I couldn't watch the games).

    France v Argentina:
    Red card for a French player in the 10th minute and for an Argentinian player in the 18th. Also a yellow card for an Argentinian in the 26th minute.

    England v Australia:
    Australian red card in the 2nd minute

    Wales v Fiji:
    Two yellow cards for Fiji

    South Africa v NZL
    3 yellow cards for South Africans

    I feel bad calling out players who are still teens but there were a few duds in that side and no stars I could see.

    Philpott says "The major measure of this team is not 'winning a world championship'. And I know that sounds a bit odd, but the key measure is actually the conversion rate into Super Rugby and the All Blacks." That's all well and good Craig, but it isn't a coincidence the winning sides tend to produce ABs in abundance.

    @mofitzy_ so, you say score was 21-10, NZ score then SA get a penalty and score becomes 25-17...4 point penalties ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Sounds like we were simply outmuscled and out thought by a bigger team.

    @taniwharugby
    Should have been 22 to 25...you got me.

    Yes we were outmuscled by SA but it was worse than that, there were bad decisions, poor skills, and lazy body language/poor communication.

    Just heard on the radio, NZ were turning down kicks at goal...Maths obviously was not a strong point with some of these kids, you would think they would have known exactly what was required to progress..
    On saying all that, are we that surprised...?

    Just on the spark ,I bought Sparks coverage of RWC at the cheap price as back just in case TVNZs live coverage of all games fall over..!,itโ€™s a bit of joke on my part, but watch that space ..!

    We've said from the beginning: Philpott is a shit coach and doesn't know how to select the best possible team. If you leave better players - with Mitre 10 Cup experience - at home, you can't expect anything better. Add to that the attitude that it isn't about winning, and your fate is sealed. I agree, the coach has to go, but will NZR have the guts to let him go?

    @Steven-Harris Burke isn't a very good goal kicker anyway. That's another reason why they needed Toala.
