So we smoked Honduras 5-0 and now we are 2-0 up against Norway
Our Goal scorer:
On Gianni Stensness, he only switched his allegiance to New Zealand this year after missing selection for the Australian under-20 team. In an interview with Stuff he said: "When it came to New Zealand versus Australia, particularly in rugby union because my dad is a big fan of them and they're obviously the best in the world, I would always go for the All Blacks over the Wallabies.
"There was always a bit of a love for New Zealand and it's funny how it worked out with certain connections between coaches and I ended up over here because I never thought it'd end up like that but that's how it goes and I'm in a good position now and I'm stoked about it."

Since this is a rugby forum...any relationship to Lee Stensness??

I would assume not unless he is a nephew or something as this: "When it came to New Zealand versus Australia, particularly in rugby union because my dad is a big fan of them and they're obviously the best in the world" suggests he wasn't an AB rather he is a fan?

@Hooroo That goal really was great. One random thing that used to always aggravate me with NZ players was the weak or tentative shots on goal. But that had serious power, and the way it flew like a cannonball over everyone, beat the keeper and smacked the back of the net, just lovely.

It really was a thronker, still rising as it bulged the side of the net, not many better sights than that.
Have been impressed with this team, a real step up in terms of technique and coaching - Stensness and Bell hold the midfield to let the attacking foursome freedom as well as the full-backs to get up in support.

consider me on the bandwagon

Well George Stanger is the son of 1990 Scottish Grand Slam winner Tony who scored this fantastic meat pie for them.

Presume Tony Stanger married a Kiwi as the young Stranger was playing for a Scottish club when they offered him a chance.
VAR eh? Called the 3rd Colombian miss an early move by the keeper and they didn't miss again. Really good performance overall, not just holding on against talented opponents but making more of the play as the game went on.
Has to be the pattern for the future. Play that 4-2-3-1 formation and slot the players in who can play the roles. Feed talented youngsters into the Phoenix if they are good enough and the best will be plucked into Europe.

Yeah I think he did. Scored a super short range try vs the ABs in 1990 too. Pretty handy player back in the day.
