This is a movie trailer for Point Break....the original Point Break which included cameos from the lead singer of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the dude from that show The Mentalist, Dr Perry Cox and mention of New Zealand right at the end.

just for you Nepia...they shold just not use the name Point Break, change the names and make it another generic type rip off film...but the way they have done it, ripping off the original, it will always be compared to (and fail to live up to) the original, despite the fact it looks a fair bit different!

Yep, it's already been remade as the Fast and the Furious which was decent and spawned a mega franchise - if they'd called it something completely different, and had different characters they might have sucked the rest of us in like they did Hooroo. ;)
-
It reminds me of this gem from the hacked Sony emails:

Spidey thought

Hey Amy - just a couple of rando thoughts from 35,000 LAX-JFK:

- A rising trend we see with Millennials are the really extreme forms of experiential exercise like Tough Mudder (a sort of filthy triathalon), the Color Run and even things like Hot Power Yoga, veganism etc. Millennials will often post “N.B.D.†on their social media after doing it , as in No Big Deal, also known as the “humble bragâ€.....wondering if Spidey could get into that in some way....he’s super athletic, bendy, strong, intense....and it’s all NBD to him, of course.

- EDM (electronic dance music) is the defining music for Millennials. Wondering if there’s an EDM angle somewhere with Spidey? His movements are beautiful, would be awesome with a killer DJ behind it

- Snapchat just launched a “story†functionality, which is sort of “day in the life of me†told in a series of snapchats that expire after 24 hours. It has a very VIP quality about it, since invitation only. Getting invited into Spidey’s Snapchat circle would be huge, and very buzzworthy and cool.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

Is this nerdy enough for you Nepia? -

Me too...

It came out when I was at uni in Waikato, so it was a movie about utter loser surfers, quoted by guys who spent all their uni time at Raglan surfing, talking about the zen of surfing, before a life working in Pack & Save. That clouded my judgement.

And even then a lot of that 80's / 90's looks reeeeeally bad now, I loved Tom Gun, but watching it now its hard not to think "this is without doubt the gayest thing I have ever seen"
-
I knew there was something wrong with you
-

none of the surfers I knew wouldnt ever use any of the lines from it, even me as a wannabe surfer didnt use the lines except to wind up my real surfer friends...nice point break, long workable rides.

Cheesy, but still awesome.
-

When? I'm disappointed you felt the need to ask and that you haven't already.. -

Fruitvale Station: This was a great movie. It had been recommended to me a bunch of times but lived up to the hype.

It's not a fast paced movie though so if you don't like slow movers this may not be the movie for you.

If you've heard the story:
It's basically just what Oscar does in the day before he gets killed at Fruitvale Station. And then the last 20 odd minutes deals with the incident - it was quite hard watching really
The star of the movie is Michael B Jordan, who was Wallace on The Wire and was in Friday Night Lights last few seasons. I think he's the new Denzel.
