Goodhue locked into the end of 2020, but no long-term deal and no big announcement on the All Blacks website or twitter feed.

Jack Goodhue signs contract extension with Crusaders

All Blacks midfielder Jack Goodhue headlines a trio of re-signings made by the Crusaders as the reigning back-to-back champions look to offset the losses of six All Blacks.

    @Tim said in Crusaders 2019:

He's welcome to come north any time.

Be coached by his former NPC coach. A coach with significant knowledge of fullback play. He can form a partnership with the best winger in the world..

On the negative side the team is cursed

@Tim Leon better remember which side his bread is buttered. That's all I'm saying.

And Steve"Cantabrian" Tew, "Sorry Leon, we've had to slash your recruitment budget this year - Razor's a bit short on cash. You know how it is...". ๐Ÿ™‚

@Chris Let's hope that greedy little Richie Mo'unga hasn't seen that article about Handre Pollard and the two million bucks - and if he has, that they've told him it's a completely different Handre Pollard to the one he played last week. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Wurzel FWIW, they went up against each other in club rugby on Saturday and I thought Harmon got the better of Christie despite playing with a badly beaten pack. Harmon is more aggressive than Christie imo, a better ball carrier and far more effective at breakdown. Tom Christie reminds me of Luke Braid - ok at everything but lacking a bit of x factor in his game.

@African-Monkey Harmon seems to have a hard edge to him, abit like Sam Cane.More game time next year he may really come on.
Christie hasnโ€™t really impressed me glad we have signed Harmon

Hey man, put some respect on Luke Braid's name :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes: . Luke Braid was the damn man - one of my favorite Blues players of the last decade. You could've used someone stinker for a comparison, like Serge Lilo..

@Dice Sorry brother haha nothing against Braid at all I liked his efforts he put in for us he's just the first player that comes to mind when I think of Tom Christie for some reason.

@African-Monkey I think it might be the hairlines ๐Ÿ˜€

If anything, Christie does play like a rookie Braid who was a tackle bot and nothing more, but Braid became so much more as the years went by and seemed to add something new to his game each year.

Billy Harmon, meh. Let's hope Tom Christie comes good this NPC.

You've got a Bedean for your profile pic but then shat on another. Christie seems to be a decent tackler but did little else for Canterbury last year.

The outside back situation is going to be very interesting. Seems to be a lot of talent to try and hang on to, but it's also worth remembering that we've already had to dip into the national pool this year with Reece due to the Dagg and Mataele unavailabilities.

The Dagg loss is obviously now permanent which opens up a spot, and with Crotty moving on there is a spot in the midfield for Ennor and/or Havili'i to contend for. If Havili'i is considered a 12 for next season and Ennor the first cab off the rank to relieve he and Goodhue, then the back three might be Jordan, Bridge and Mataele with Leicester F, Reece and Punivai the alternatives. Put it that way, and it doesn't seem overcrowded.

I like Billy Harmon, heโ€™s a real hardman in the Brighton pack as mentioned above. Deserves his chance.

@Chris That is bad news. It's only three games after this one, but makes it less likely they'll give him a chance in the play-off games over guys who are in the groove.

He's not had great luck the past couple of Super seasons.

That news about Jordan can be found in the article below.

Crusaders prop Joe Moody has joined an ever-growing list of All Blacks sidelined by injury.

The 30-year-old loosehead will miss the red and blacks' fixture against the Stormers in Cape Town on Sunday morning (NZT) due to the knee injury he sustained against the Bulls last weekend.

Moody, who was forced off early in the second half and required stitches to repair a deep gash to his left-knee, returned home to Christchurch this week to mend.

Speaking from Cape Town on Thursday night (NZT), Crusaders coach Scott Robertson called Moody a "potential option" to play the Blues at Christchurch Stadium Saturday week.

That's better news than Robertson dished on utility back Will Jordan, who could miss the rest of the regular season with the foot injury he picked up against the Sharks a fortnight ago.
