@Steven-Harris His games don’t seem to flow. Pinging players all over the place.

This female commentator(Rikki Swannell?) is pretty decent. Most of the games I've seen from her, I haven't been able to fault her much.

She cut her teeth in radio. She's a genuine sports commentator which makes her better than a random they brought it.

If Mo'unga plays tonight, Saders win. I think it really is as simple as that.

Mo’unga’s pass and quickness is a big difference when we are in our own half. He takes on the line or he can organise and release runners. Noticeable difference tonight.

Sure there was a real battle up front, but even when we’ve had that this season Mo’unga has still been able to do his thing.

In saying that, I don’t think Hunt was too bad tonight compared to previous outings this season.

@ACT-Crusader Mo’unga is top drawer. Hunt looked well off the pace to me. His kick out on the full early 2nd half, followed by some lame attempts at taking the high ball, the grubber close to the line that was low percentage....

So with the game ending in a draw, you can say that the ref cost the Crusaders the win. Several of those penalties that Bosch converted into points were questionable to say the least. If only one of those had not been awarded, the Crusaders would have won.

Great defence from the Shorks; they can be proud of their effort. I wouldn't be proud if my team only scored points from penalties though.

Barrett, Taufua and Read the best Crusaders' forwards IMO.
Goodhue and Bridge the best backs.

Hunt is coming off a pretty low base before tonight’s game....

Which is disappointing because I thought last year he was showing real signs of development and taking that next step up. Fortunately he’s still young and hopefully we can keep learning from this.

@ACT-Crusader agree. Don’t throw away a player based on one game. Tough game when your usually dominant forwards run into a pack that was as physical as the Sharks.

I would cut Hunt some slack. He's getting way less game time this year than he got in previous years. He just doesn't get the chance to string some games together like he used to.

Interestingly, Cameron didn't come off the bench tonight.

Some selection lessons for Razor out of that game. If you're going to rest Mo'unga, then you need most of the rest of the top team wrapped around his replacement.

Tonight's team selections looked a bit too much like what ran out against the Waratahs - which I guess is fine if Razor's really wanting to test his young guns - but, he got a few answers.

Was interesting to see him shift Barrett to 6 and bulk up the forwards and also persist with Hunt - so that Blackadder and Cameron weren't required. Both good moves IMO.

Thought the forwards overplayed their hands a bit too much tonight, starved the backs of the ball - and proceeded to make a lot of turnovers through being too fancy, as well as some very stupid plays (Codie Taylor). Joe Moody seems like he's trying to take Wyatt's penalty record in the last few weeks.

Scott Barrett has become a bloody good player. Taufua was good. Read in the second half. Goodhue as usual. Bridge. Drummond better than Hall tonight.

Blackadder wasn't on the bench due to illness. Bill Harmon was wearing the 20 jersey and he came on in the 71st minute for Dunshea (Barrett moving back to the 2nd row).

I was hoping after the Shorks had scored their 7th penalty, that the Crusaders would score a converted try sooner, so that Hunt could attempt another clutch droppie at the end again, like in that famous Highlanders game. Unfortunately, the try came too late. Would have been awesome.

@Chris That's why it is a bad idea to rest Mo'unga and Havili at the same time.

@Stargazer yep no doubt the Ref was shocking 2 kickable penalties awarded for not releasing the ball both are Rucks the Sharks should not of had their hands on the ball
3 times Moodey was penalised because the idiot ref couldn’t understand the Sharks were pulling back on the Crusaders ball.
Really poor Ref doesn’t read the game at all.

    And a couple of thoughts
Bridge looks far more composed than Reece under pressure
Ennor May lack advantage line go- To Ability at centre .
    Goodhue has that

I really don't understand how Jean-Luc du Preez has not played more tests for the Boks. The guy is an absolute beast, especially on defence. Reminds me of Kaino.
