Yeah I assume so 'Dawn of Justice', but thats if Superman doesnt kill Batman straight off, as he could...unless Alfred whips him up a suit made of kryptonite!

That's kind of the point of the ending of Man of Steel and much of the history of the comics, Superman doesn't like to kill people. Combine that with they kryptonite (and I guess magic, if they are including Wonder Woman as her sword can cut Superman) he has a weakness that can be exploited.

Watched a couple over the weekend.

Finally got around to watching "Rush" and i am still undecided what i thought of it. What kind of movie was it? Sports? Comedy? Drama? At times i thought i was watching a parody. And Lauda sounded Dutch. So much contrived "drama" and "conflict". Still, there was cars, and titties, and it I wasn't bored. But nowhere near as good as i thought it was going to be. I guess the source material was pretty weak, weren't Hunt and Lauda mates in the end?

And last night i watched "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and it was, ok i guess? Looked pretty cool, Fassbender is an excellent distinguished villian. Normally, i am not one who looks for holes in movies, and can easily ignore them if they aren't too gaping, and don't mess up the plot. But movies with time travel in them are fraught with danger, and so much of this one had me saying "hang on, what about...". Add in retconning about 5 movies so that they basically never happened, and it finished with thinking it was all a bit bullshit. Sure, they now have a clean slate to start with, and they can choose what characters they roll with from here, but to get there they basically had to create a confusing mess, and hope we all forget about it.
-
Saw Fast 7 last night.

It is completely fucking stupid but I loved it. It's not an easy film to watch with a brain in your head so don't bother bringing it.

The Paul Walker factor, regardless of whether you were a fan of his or not(I'm am/was not) is bloody sad. That does not give anything away.

Think Bad Boys 2. So much happening you can't keep up with what's stupid or not. There are some odd directions they went in regarding how they used particular cast members but again it's not Shakespeare.

The actor playing Lauda is actually German (I have no idea how different Austrian German speakers and German German speakers sound).

It's been a while since I saw it but didn't the film make this clear? Or did I just read about it after watching the movie?

I made the mistake of watching Insurgent this weekend. Don't let nieces chose movies is the takeaway from this. I'd seen Divergent with them and it was shit for half and then an ok action movie for half. Insurgent is just shit. Most of the time the plot makes no sense, there's seems to be no rules of the world they've established, the main actress who is quite good in other stuff is awful.
-

the last voice over as Hunt strolls off to his plane and bitches was pretty vague. The way Lauda speaks about how when he heard he died of a heart attack he was sad, it made it sound like they ended up acquaintances rather than friends. The internet tells me they were friends from early on, they lived together when the were in F3, this doesn't really gel with a late-formulated understanding the movie tried to portray

In the end, i guess i just didn't know what the movie was about. Was it about the 1976 F1 championship? If so they fucking cruised through it. Was it about a long-standing rivalry that developed into a friendship? Well, they didn't really make that clear either. Was it about Hunt? or Lauda? It was just kind of a 2 hour bit of entertainment. Which is fine, but it could have been better, a lot better.
-

I suppose it was better fro the dramatic impetuous of the film to not show them flatting together early on and just show them as rivals.

I thought it was pretty good 2 hour entertainment with good performances, and like all these other 'based on movies' of late afterwards I'd go do some reading to get the true story. Maybe the fact I don't care about cars going round a track meant it only had to achieve a certain level with me?
-

Yeah thats kinda why the whole Batman vs Superman thing seems silly to me as both are essentially 'good' but then I've not read any of the Justice League or anything, but I'll watch it fo'sho!
-
They are being clever with the story. One of the main criticisms of the Man of Steel was how Superman destroyed half the city killing Zod.

In this one there are supposed to be consequences to that, Batman and Luthors attitude to him is driven by that.

Good starting point. And they haven't over powered this version of Superman, no lifting continents into space, turning back the earth, etc -

Looks like they are influenced heavy by The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel by Frank Miller, which is bloody good. They made an animated movie of it last year or the year before, which is good too, especially part 2.

Yeah, it's an adaption of that so will be big changes. but you can just look at the batsuit (both versions) and see Miller's influence.

I was going to post a link to that on youtube, the fight in the comic was better with batman using his brain more than the animated movie. Sort of underplayed that Batman NUKED Superman as well :)
-

Apparently there is a new trailer out for this? I heard it on the radio and Affleck sound cooool! Similar to bale but with another added barbed wire/broken glass effect on the voice
