My Latest All Blacks Quiz

http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/83115/scotland-rugby-75-or-more-caps

This was my 2nd quiz for today, most caps for Scotland.

Most of these guys had some fairly unflattering winning percentages I might add, one or two got into the 40s.
-
2 ...

I'm obviously still living in the 80s... -

I tried the Hastings brothers, then realised my brain is past being able to think ... then when I stopped it I realised I would have got hardly any of them. Sorry Scotland rugby.
-
My first guess was "Hastings" thinking "There's two ... ". When it didn't work I looked at the dates...

The only names that came to mind were contemporaries of them ... or before...
Rutherford Laidlaw Irvine Jeffery Sole Milne Stanger Weir ... even McGeechan
And one I got guessing another blokes surname.
I got Scott Murray guessing Euan
I did think of one but couldn't think of his name.
Hines
-

Not many jocks will like me for saying this, but that list is a sad indictment of Scottish Rugby in that all bar one or two would never figure in a list of Scotland's Greatest Players.

-

Scottish rugby has gone downhill big time unfortunately.

Time for today's quiz.

http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/83115/new-zealand-rugby-all-blacks-most-tries-by-a-midfield-back

Midfield backs with 10 or more tries. Tries these guys may have got playing on the wing or elsewhere are not counted.

Surprised how short this list actually is.
-

That quiz may be a bit too easy in hindsight.

Err yeah -

Took me a while to get 12. Made up for the Scotland one - I gave up when I had just one and couldn't think of that winger's name that would have given me two.

Here's a video of when Scotland was good. Nice soundtrack, plenty of Bill McLaren and I love those elaborate '80s try-scoring celebrations.
-

1:47 to spare!
-

I think that was the easiest quiz yet.

-

Here we go 100 test starts http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/83115/international-rugby-100-or-more-tests-in-the-starting-lineup

Subs appearances don't count.

Woody and DC not on this list although I expect this year it will happen.
-
Your link didn't work UHB

Missed the Aussie on 100. -

Well I did abysmal. 10/14. Missed Oz 109, SA 104, Oz 100 and I would never have got the last one.

-

13/14. I missed the Italian.

-

How on earth are you guys getting the final Irish one?

-

Not sure why Nepia, although the late John Drake would castigate him for his scrummaging every time he came to NZ, maybe that's it.

Interesting how he played for so long, wasn't that good, however nobody coming through in that position over there until Mike Ross came through.
-

I can't speak for anyone else but I remembered he was one of the Irish centurions from an earlier quiz. A process of elimination.
-

I had to reach deep into my brain to remember who he was once the quiz ended and Drake laying into him was what I came up with him.
-

Today's quiz, school representation of 2014 All Blacks.

http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/83115/2014-new-zealand-rugby-all-blacks-high-school-attended

I know a number of guys on this list will have attended more than 1 school however answers taken from All Blacks website.
-

21/33 - I spent a long time trying to get the spelling right on 3 of the schools.

-

Acronyms were for the most part accepted.

I started with the Super 8 schools, then guessed on the Auckland and Christchurch schools - who turned up less than I expected. Then I guessed on the Central Regions comp schools they started in the past couple of years and got a bunch that I normally wouldn't have thought of.
-

26/33 and that's with knowing where the likes of Read, Dagg and Mealamu went to school. No idea with most of the Wellington boys.

No players from the school with the most ABs and only 2 from the school that's second on the list. Times have changed...
-

Got most of the South Island ones and almost none of the NI ones. I did know Julian Savea if I could have spelled it.

-

Here goes quiz no2 for the day.

75 or more caps for France.

http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/83115/french-rugby-75-or-more-international-appearances

Only 2 centurions, shows actually how much French coaches have chopped and changed their teams over the years.
-
4 ... pathetic effort.

A few I'd have never got but my mind wasn't on the job properly anyway.

The hirsute equine like creature I missed as I couldn't spell his name.

Should have got 76. Could picture him but his name escaped me. -

Spelling probably my achilles heel on the French quiz if I hadn't made the quiz myself!

I got 4 but missed 4 others due to spelling (even though I knew the name) and the last one I spelled exactly the same as it is written at the end.

Some of them I barely know that they played so many matches and I was always a fan of French rugby.
-

Same - got four, but the other three I identified I couldn't spell and the nickname for Booboo's steed didn't work.

To be honest, I pay little attention to the six nations countries these days - except when we play them - so me attempting these "foreign" quizzes is largely a waste of time.
-

Top AB tryscorers at Rugby World Cups.

12/14

-

12 missed a really obvious one from 87 and one who played same posn in 95/99 who In thought of and then forgot to type

-

11/14 - missed three of the 5s - all of whom played the same position - and all of whom I probably would have got with another minute or so.

-
11
-

13/14

I missed the 2003/2007/2011 one. :idiot2:

There's something seriously wrong with that list in that it doesn't include Cullen.
-

Agreed, Nepia, didn't help that he only went to one WC, and then was played out of position.
