    @Chris-B

    Do you think Akira would go as a 6?

    I'd say it's more likely he continue to miss out and starts next year at 8.

    Right now, I'd ask the blues to give Akira a few games at 6, if they really wanted him to be an AB this year.

    @Chris-B aparently Ma'a was a yoga master and is the very reason why alot of All Blacks swear by yoga today. He started it way back in his early playing days and is probably why he was rarely injured. On the other hand some players just have rotten luck.

    @gt12 I'm a fan of Frizzel and felt he was excellent on debut against Argentina last year. Was there a reason why he was dropped?

    For the tour later on? He wasn't. He was injured.

    @Canes4life More than likely a useful tool to protect muscles and ligaments- though probably won't help with broken bones and concussions.

    Aaron Smith has re-signed through to 2021. Big surprise.

    @Yeetyaah Good, then he can continue preparing Fakatava for a starting role at the Highlanders and then the black jersey.

    That Crusaders match just got a little harder for the Landers.

    .

    In further good news for the Highlanders, following the recent re-signing of halfback Aaron Smith, All Blacks hooker Liam Coltman has also re-signed with his Super Rugby club and New Zealand Rugby through to 2022.

    29-year-old Coltman, Highlanders #199, has made 92 Highlanders appearances since his debut in 2013 for the southernmost club. After serving his apprenticeship as the back-up hooker in 2013 to All Black Andrew Hore, he eventually started 14 times in 2014 before being an important part of the Super Rugby championship-winning team in 2015. He debuted for the All Blacks in 2016 and has played four Tests.

    Originally from New Plymouth, Coltman played with fellow All Black Beauden Barrett at Francis Douglas Memorial College, before transferring to Otago. He made his debut for them in 2010 and played for New Zealand Under 20 at the Junior World Cup in the same year.

    @Stargazer Never heard of him. If Ioane is injured the Highlanders have serious problems.
