A good weekf ro em, loads of exercise and ate very well, almost pure grilled seafood over the whole easter break.<br />
<br />
Th result was a weight in of 125kgs yesterday morning!<br />
<br />
Back under an injury cloud now afetr damaging a rib while surfing and having caught a cold over easter. -
Week 10 (I think)<br />
<br />
The scales stopped at 125kgs this morning. Not too surprising as my exercise has been down and my eating has been all over the place in the last week.<br />
<br />
Back into the routine now so should be on track again next week. -
Week 11<br />
<br />
The scales stopped at 125kgs this week so its back on the strict diet to get moving in the right direction. BTW I was at the doctor's today and she told me of an alternative measurement to BMI which she thinks I should us.<br />
<br />
Basically my waist (measured over belly button) should be under 100cms, or if it is under, then it should be 90% of the distance around my hips. She measured mine at 109cms. Apparently the thinking is that weight around the gut is a better indicator of health rather than weight overall. -
Fark mark - yer goin ORF son! Keep it up mate - the next milestone is in sight. <br />

<br />
Pretty sound thinking too - the size of your gut tells all manner of things about your habits. It also tells a little about your genetic predisposition re: weight gain i.e. people can put it on in different areas at different rates, but are generally the same which is mean put fat on around the back and stomach first generally while with women its hips, arse, and tits. Which is what we love about it right? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /><br />
<br />
But most importantly the size of your gut points to how much strain you're putting on your back muscles and rib cage. People who are enormously overweight don't dig exercise much because the sheer weight of their body pulling down on them not only is a bitch to carry around as well as putting strain on the heart to feed all those extra blood vessels, but compresses their rib cage and makes it harder for their lungs to expand. When Dad was in hospital recently they were worried that the weight of his manboobies was going to finish him off so they got him into the weight loss and the old bugger is back down under 100kg! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I don't think he's been under 110 since he was shearing 150 head a day! -
Ahoy hoy<br />
<br />
Weigh day again. Today I was hoping to be the same weight as last time as the last two weeks have been very busy with my first baby (its a girl) arriving.<br />
<br />
Anyway the scales stopped at 119kgs - which in theory is another 2kgs off. However as I have hardly exercised in the last 2 weeks I think this may be loss of muscle rather than fat. Gunna try and start exercising again this week.<br />
<br />
My wife (who has been fully supportive of the weight loss efforts so far) is gunna join me on the diet.<br />
<br />
A bit of gossip - Former Wallaby blindside and Waratah captain Michael Brial had a baby at the same hospital at the same time as us. -
Well I OD'd on choc mud cake yesterday. The damm thing cornered me and I had to eat my way out - I then sat around feeling guilty about it all night. <br />
<br />
Its definitely tougher during winter months. I am still trying to have salads most days for lunch but I have started having a soup every now and then for more variety but the time will come when I need something heavy and hearty. Exercise is limited to walking to/from work at the moment, too cold to swim now and I am not a fan of cycling in the dark in Sydney. My calf has fully healed now so I guess can start jogging again.<br />
<br />
On the eating front, I am generally sticking to the original plan but I have started increasing my intake of low GI foods by trying to make sure I include something that is low GI in every meal. For example I am now having 1 wheat bix and a handful of all bran mixed together for breakie (used to be 2 wheat bix) and I always have a yoghurt with lunch. It may be psychological, but I am generally finding it easier to make it through to the next meal without snacking. The main changes in eating habits from when I started are:<br />
<br />- I have cut out nearly all unhealthy snack foods (I haven't had a tim tam in 2 months now)<br />
- In fact I am snacking less between meals now as well, typically I only have 1-2 snacks per day now, previously it was more like 1-2 snacks between each meal.<br />
- My meal size has decreased <br />
- I am planning ahead far more so that I don't get caught out eating something unhealthy (this applies for exercise as well) <br />
- My meat consumption is down a lot. Total meat servings is down to something like 4-5 servings per week (previously it was 12+). I also have less meat per meal when I am eating it. I eat red meat/pork 2-3 times per week and have fish atleast once per week. I have found this has helped the family budget out as well.<br />
- Offsetting that is a massive increase in fruit/vegie consumption. I have my staples, but I am also tracking through the fruit/vegies as they come in/out of season. E.g. I am eating an apple and an orange a day now, I ate loads of corn & Eggplant in Feb - April.
-
Am still on the 119kg plateau. Gunna be hard to move from this level until the weather warms up or baby settles down more at home - because I am finding that I am binging somewhat due to stress and tiredness and am not having time to get the exercise required. <br />
<br />
A long walk with bub was the exercise highlight for the week, the food low light was me scoffing a whole box of choc coated nuts. I haven't eaten chocolate foir 3 months then all of a sudden I go crazy - I blame the wife who insist on having chocolate in the house. -

Chocolate in the house! Jeez I daren't even think about that. <br />
<br />
Mrs Luigi's Dad came to stay for a couple of weeks recently, which meant the return of the dreaded biscuits to Chez Luigi. I tell you, every time I went in the fridge those bastards were eyeballing me, taunting me, tempting me to give in. I'm glad to say I manfully resisted and didn't have even one. :angel11:<br />
<br />
I can mucnh my way through a whole packet of shorttbread straight and not even think about it. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' /> -
Weighed in again this morning for first time in alsmost a month. Weight was still 115kgs so I am stoked.<br />
<br />
My exercise routine has fallen to pieces (due to work) and have been eating what ever has been put in front of me.<br />
<br />
Work has settled down now so back on the straight and narrow. -

<br />
Aaaaaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhh! <br />
<br />
Unless you are the Prime Minister (and even then) food is a hell of a lot more important than work. You need to tell yourself this, if necessary before or just after every hamburger :happy: Seriously, screw work. Finding food you like to eat, and that is good for you, is far more important. Work, smerk. If they sack you because you were spending too much time putting something healthy together in the staff kitchen find another job. You can't however find another body.<br />

Good, but see above :happy: The weather's heaps better now for Fatbusting; MvJ shared your frustration a few weeks ago. It's great news you're still the same weight despite the diet "blips". Knock them dead and keep us informed.
